Blog The Jade Host: Mayan Lizardmen

I mean technically the 7 slann and 3x10 skinks is 2000 points.... now will one let you field 7.... but then 6 slann, 10 guard and 40 skinks is also 2000 points.... and legal.... good probably not, but for fun hell yeah!!!

I can just picture the counsel surrounded by guard and then by skinks!! Hehehehe

My uncle and I were just talking about this. I did the math for 8th edition; bare bones 6 slann came out to 1800 points, with another 325 for slann #7 who is also the BSB. Would definitely make an awesome last-stand scenario.

Oh yeah I forgot those are in square base for lizardmen (and I know nothing about it, not that I know much more about AOS hehehe) I was looking at AOS.

Have you used this stuff much previously. I've used it for its intended purpose, but also had some lying about for a while. It tends to dissolve after a while. Maybe that won't happen if you are using paint on it and other crafting stuff, but it could all end up as a pile of rubble.......

Can't tell, the picture didn't post for some reason :(

Its the floral foam

Yup, standard floral foam. I use it for most of my bases and/or terrain projects to look like stone, like the serpent mouth temple. I usually have to give it two or three thick black coats of paint after it is assembled to keep it from falling apart. Still does sometimes though, but since I am making ruins it just makes it more characterful :D

Still plugging forward on my Cryx warmachine force, but I took a quick break to put paint on models for some raptors I have had kicking around my "finish painting" stack for over a year!

These were raptors from the game/company Verge of War. Happy with how they turned out; after they dry I need to base them with a suitably jungle habitat!

@Warden these look pretty cool! Do you think a saurus knight would fit on one of those?

Great question, I think they would work pretty well. The raptors are a tad bigger, and you would need to shave off some of the back-ridge details, but I think they would fit with minor alterations. Plus the saurus riders look too big for their old mounts to begin with.

You really can see how much my painting has progressed since I painted my cold-one riders (over 10+ years ago???:D)

I went ahead and made a tutorial thread-size comparison to show off the differences.

Hope this helps, one more very hungry raptor for the road ;)

Great new dinos to add to Jungleheim :vamp:

This one on a single leg was tricky to base... I decided to drill a metal pin into his leg and securely fasten him in the end so he wouldn't keep tipping over as I glued him down.
