Blog The Jade Host: Mayan Lizardmen

After having gone through this thread I am at a loss for words. While your models are excellent, your terrain is incredible, far superior to anything GW has released.

Dang @Lizerd I had over 350 messages when I logged in today, and most of those were from you going through my Lizardmen blog. Glad you enjoyed it, I took a trip down memory lane and went through all the pages just for fun. Pretty crazy to see how far this collection has gone!

Got a ton of pictures to sort through, but here are some previews:

Yep, it has taken me more than a minute to sort through these photos (that were originally taken in June) but I have a bunch of them to share now.

Sadly many of the full army photos are blurry :argh:, will leave those for some extras at the end.

So that is it, my full Lizardmen army. Finally all based, only took a few years :lurking:. I owe the inspiration for the basing to @Crowsfoot, @n810, and many others.

Learned a bit about lighting (and my phone camera :blackeye:) while making these photos, next time I will try to take some better ones...

Dam. That’s one huge army that is painted exceptionally well! So what are your plans for the future of this mighty army?

That is a good question. Most of my big lizardmen projects are done, though I have a few more still on the workbench. I have a few more hordes gatormen to turn into kroxigors, and I have a few cast slann I need to get around to paint.

Now that my river tiles are all done I am thinking of doing an actual temple, a bit bigger than the last one, maybe a bit more vertical too. More terrain in general would be great. Maybe some more big dinos? I love the saurus so much, but an engine of the gods or a bastiladon might be fun too. I haven't played a big game in so long with all these guys that I probably won't expand my Lizardmen too much, mostly just Mordheim.

This blog is absolutely legendary. I am almost at a loss of words, and if I say almost is because I have to remark how incredibly inspirational this is for anyone visiting it from here towards the future. The amount of love and passion you put in your miniatures is heart warming, thank you for sharing this. I know what I saw here will be reflected in my own work, as well as many other people's. Epic and exemplary job. 10/10

Thanks for the compliments all!

Did you sulpt the alligators or are they from any brand? They look badass!
They look a little bit like Hordes Gatormen, but reconverted somehow?

Yup they are Hordes gatormen, got three small units of them and a fourth still WIP. I have five straight from the box, and I cast a few more.

This is all really incredible! Very inspiring, I especially love your custom battle standard bearer and coatl priest, looks fantastic.

Hey I appreciate it! Lots of fun to do, the coatl is an old project from the very start of this army, standard bearer is something I did much more recently. Really like how well the standard themes for the army in particular. And the terrain is always fun!!
