GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

So, today we've got a new skaven Deathmaster + new tome:

Sylvaneth got A LOT of stuff, including a tome:

Spiterider Lancers are Alarielle’s elite shock cavalry. Lightning-fast, they dart into combat and strike their foes down before they can react.

Revenant Seekers are a touch slower, focusing on the vital task of harvesting the life energy of fallen Sylvaneth to resurrect their allies.

Some of the next StD reinforcements were also previewed; Theridon Ogroids:

A preview on the next faction for AoS, which is still on the way:

Lol working on the same posts at the same time :P

Well... what he said ;)

Grrr, Imrahil

What is that new faciton supposed to be? It looks far too similar to the CoS aesthetic to be truly new.

either a cities of sigmar revamp, or the dawnbringer crusades as a sub faction in a revamp cities book, with a bunch of new, holy themed units.

calling it now, return or revamp of the war altar of sigmar.

Re: Sylvaneth.

Anyone got any lore on this Queen of Thorns?

otherwise, cool looking stuff that I may never collect.
she has been mentioned twice so far.
she is a driad that can switch trees at will. the surrounding forest gets healed and massively over grown due to her presence. i'm surprised she is entering the battle feild she was very much a suport person not a fighter

Perhaps she will be more support than a fighter rules-wise as well

i meant she is just way to valuable to loose. her presence stops nurgle corruption she is the most important tool alariel has for restoration.
maybe its an avatar of her, like she is a minor wood spirit under Alarielle.

Either that, or Alarielle has figured out a way to make her functionally immortal for the setting.

And a full unit of Minotaurs(Bullgors)

These could be better minotaurs. instead, they give them to chaos warriors.

On one hand, I'm glad I went with grand alliance death as my main alliance, with a smattering of order stuff for fun (My stormcast currently being my only real sizeable force with that other than my old cities army, which is being added to/superseded by the Guild Myrmidian.

Huh, all I was expecting was a new box of Night Runners and GW couldn't even manage that.

Still, a great model, and I haven't got an Assassin yet so it'll be worth me grabbing him sometime (at discount of course, not paying £20 for a single figure ;))

And some flyers, hard Riperdactyl look alike faces:

*Cough* Disgusting faction bias *Cough*

Also I've noticed that both Sylvaneth and Skaven are getting recycled cover art as Fyreslayers and Nighthaunt did. 3rd is fast turning into the 8th 40K of AoS, where laziness and pointless additional rules in all the wrong places rule supreme.

These are very nice models and as @Imrahil has said would make good alternative Minotaurs, though the heads would need to be pinched from the current Minotaur box, because the heads for these don't work as Minotaurs (and look more like Gors and Ungors, which isn't right for Minotaurs because Minotaurs have a separate culture from the smaller Beastmen, though they are part of the same army list). Alternatively they'll also work as Chaos Ogres in Fantasy for Warriors of Chaos.

However in general I can't understand why they're getting so excited for this Warriors of Chaos release when it isn't going to happen until at least December. I'd rather they teased something about the books coming in the Autumn first.

Two new characters from new Black Library novels:

Cado Ezechiar

Horribly boring

Drekki Flynt

Much better, but given he's just a commemorative model for Black Library I can't see him featuring much in Kharadron armies other than as an alternative Arkanaut Admiral.

either a cities of sigmar revamp, or the dawnbringer crusades as a sub faction in a revamp cities book, with a bunch of new, holy themed units.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be the former.

I'm certainly wondering if this is planned to be released around the time The Old World arrives, so that all the remaining Empire, Dwarf and Elf models from Fantasy that are currently in the CoS range can be moved over to the TOW part of the webstore for use in Warhammer Fantasy gaming once again, and are replaced in the AoS store with properly AoS-ified Cities of Sigmar models that fit better with the new aesthetics.

I dearly hope they move on from Renaissance Germans with their new aesthetic because Renaissance Germans make little sense in a setting where there is no quasi-Renaissance-Germany for them to live in, though given they've still given some of their new human characters German-sounding names for very little reason I'm not all that confident.

This would be interesting, as it might mean TOW would be released earlier than 2025 (Please GW? *crosses fingers*). I doubt they would preview a new faction that wouldn't come out in three whole years. All in all a pretty disappointing Warhammerfest, I wish Skaven had actually gotten new kits. Oh well, at least my Wood-Elf playing friends will be pleased.
