GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

This would be interesting, as it might mean TOW would be released earlier than 2025 (Please GW? *crosses fingers*). I doubt they would preview a new faction that wouldn't come out in three whole years.

They first announced plastic Sisters of Battle quite a few years back and it's only come to fruition in the past two, and this project has a similar-size scope, so I wouldn't get too excited - in this preview they haven't even shown any actual models yet, just a few decorative bitz, so I don't think these new AoS humans will be around for a good while yet, particularly as Warriors of Chaos appear to be the biggest thing happening for AoS this year for some reason, and I suppose next year will be dominated by 10th Edition 40K (unless they finally decide to broaden the time between new editions and postpone 10th Edition 40K and 4th Edition AoS for a couple of years, which would frankly be great, whereupon TOW may well be released earlier than 2025 as you predict, though I'm not particularly confident that will happen).

All in all a pretty disappointing Warhammerfest, I wish Skaven had actually gotten new kits. Oh well, at least my Wood-Elf playing friends will be pleased.

Agreed, this set of previews has been about as disappointing as it could get for me personally. I agree Skaven should have got far more than just a single unnamed hero, but then Fyreslayers and Idoneth should have too and GW failed big time to seal that deal.

So I have half a heart to think that they are going to for all intents and purposes squat the remaining Warhammer fantasy kits instead of transfer them over to the old world.

That is a valid concern, but I couldn't understand why they would do that, most of the models are fine (except the 7th Edition Empire State Troopers and Handgunners, they need to be replaced and/or squatted :wtf:), and it would be such a costly decision, both from the point of view of the business and the customer, to make new moulds for these units as ultra-expensive Forge World kits when they could just keep these existing plastics, and resurrect some of those they ditched at the beginning of AoS, for nothing, at an affordable price to their target audience.

at an affordable price to their target audience.

Just FYI. It looks like GW is going to "discontinue" many of the earliest Underworlds warbands. Most are pretty cool sculpts in case someone is interested.

They’re just going to range-rotate them out as far as I’m aware, I’d like to think they’ll return in a few years. I’m certainly hoping so because I intend to pick up Grashrak’s Ravagers and don’t want to panic buy them at a time when I have loads of other stuff to make.

If you have the $30, why wait?

Prediction: In a few years time, @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl will be complaining about Ebayers selling the discontinued models at a price higher than retail! :joyful:
