GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

I can 100% agree with you there, the Empire State Trooper models (originally released in 7th Edition Fantasy) are abominations and look barely human. Funnily enough I believe they were a step back from the previous 6th Edition plastics:

With regards to uniforms, I don't think you'll be able to escape from that for Warhammer humans, no matter what edition the models are from.

Personally I'd rather see GW just wipe the Renaissance German aesthetic for AoS humans (which doesn't even make sense now that they're not even from Warhammer Renaissance Germany) and give AoS Cities of Sigmar the same units back in a different aesthetic, or even rewrite the army list to give them more of an AoS feel. TOW is coming back so GW can simply move the sale of their Empire plastics to the TOW section on their website when they create it, and then players can mix and match if they wish.

Honestly if you want that aesthetic and want something cheaper the war games Atlantic conquistadors will fit that bill very very well. In fact you may say they were designed for something kin to that purpose.

And all of them coming next winter!

He's also getting a glow up.

Hoping the new Warriors and Knights also get actual multi-part kits too.

I can bet you I'll be painting that chaos Lord for one of my normal clients. If not I will buy it for myself because it is a fucking cool model.

I figured they would cash in on the total war Warhammer 3 aesthetic for the demon Prince. He's probably going to have multiple options and a six pack under that chest piece.

Ah, so the Horns of Hashut are Human cultists, not Chaos Dwarfs. I know some people who will be very disappointed to hear that... But they seem pretty decent for a 10-man unit. a 4+ save and an anti-horde weapon on a horde unit plus mortals on the charge sounds pretty strong to me.

The Ogroids are going to be an elite, 3-man unit. They seem pretty decent overall, especially with the rend -2 weapons.

Eternus is your "typical" 3e big hero. Tons of attacks, high rend, high save, extra free special abilities on top of that.

Just continues to solidify my belief that whenever our book comes out, we'll also need warscroll buffs and not buff-stacking in order to do well.

I do think that’s a bit of a shame, but I was concerned that if they had been Chaos Dwarfs, they would have been lumping them in with Warriors of Chaos and thus denying them the right to an army of their own. The fact that these are human cultists thus means that won’t happen and the possibility of an all-plastic Chaos Dwarf Faction is still alive!

Probably we'll be among the last ones. So we'll play the 3rd with the current book, and when our battletome will be updated to 3rd, it will be the time for 4th. :p
Well that's the major downside of their release schedule... updating factions over the course of an edition is by definition going to result in weird situations with powercreep, out of date tomes, and factions that only have an up to date tome for a couple of months before the edition ends....

To be honest what dissapoints me most is that despite our tome being released so close to the new edition the book still seems to be focused completly on 2nd edition. You'd expect some 3th edition rules to have snuck in there already...

We're the oldest species in the game (aside from the demons in Chaos), and we're a little slow to adapt. Lol. :p

Looks like I was wrong and, as the rumourmongers on TGA keep harping on about, it will be Skaven vs Sylvaneth - the Warhammer Community banner on the Warhammer Fest title has changed to a definite Skaven one:

There goes my Beastman theory, but like my Skaven a lot, and because the symbol is Clan Eshin, we may well finally see a new set of Night Runners/Gutter Runners (pity I have already bought and made some of the old 'Monkey Rat' ones, but I've only made them as Night Runners, so maybe I could grab some to be Gutter Runners).

And as for Beastmen, maybe they'll be up for the Chaos book (and with luck some new models) coming in the Autumn?
