He might be right. That's an Oakeshott 12 type sword if I am not mistaken. Very common in that century.
Realism versus the Rule of Cool is a constant struggle when writing or presenting fantasy. I'm working on a homebrew RPG system and this conflict comes up over and over. At this point I'm mulling over how difficult to make it to fight multiple less skill opponents. In real life, I have heard stories of a professional boxer ambushed and severely beaten by five average people but the Rule of Cool states that a single skilled martial artist can triumph over hordes of mooks.
Oh my.
I didn't realize this was the just for laugh thread.
no problem!

Yeah 3.5 is epic though Pathfinder is just like 3.5 but with many improvements I would recommend checking that out. Also 5e is amazing as well. 3.5 and pathfinder allow more character customization due to feats etc whereas 5e is a lot simpler but still captures the feel of D&D. Essentially 5e is great for new players or even experienced players who want convenience. One benefit of 5e is that it makes roleplay very prominent as you don’t have nearly as many rules. If you have any questions just pm me.
I don't get it. Please explain
A bit untraditional but I got a good story from the highly acclaimed children’s book
“The very Hungry Carnosaur” with reviews from imperial soldiers
“You mean those lizards got f***ing dinosaurs?!” -mark, deceased
“I really need a raise...” -John, deceased
“Shhh.. it can’t see you if you stay still” Fredrick, deceased
“that monster ate my entire platoon” Herman, went missing 5 years ago
One day, a carnosaur woke up and it was very hungry. It saw some stupid rat men, at least a dozen of them. It ate them all, and it was hungry.
The carnosaur decided to move on, and it encountered an imperial expiation. It made short work of them and ate the, all. It was still hungry.
Then the carnosaur saw a village, and it ate them all. It left nothing but blood behind and it was still hungry.
The carnosaur then encountered a huge city. After quickly devouring the defenders the carnosaur ate everyone. finally the carnosaur went home and had a nice nap.
Now with reviews from parents!
“WHY DID YOU INCLUDE IMAGES?!”
“My child can’t sleep anymore”
“I think my kid needs therapy”
I don't get it. Please explain
