What are you doing today hobbywise?

Rejoice, for the bottle of Drano Max cleared the kitchen drain! Had to leave it sitting in there for 45 minutes, which is about 15 minutes longer than the bottle said it should, but at least I don't have to take the drain apart! HUZZAH! :D (also, is it sad that right now, this is what I wanted most for my birthday?)
Congratulations! I can't fault you wanting to fix it yourself. I have a monthly routine now of pouring a five gallon bucket into each side of my sink to help force down the debris. My family aren't conscientious of what they put down the drain, at least I got them to stop with liquid greases. If it slows at all I try to get the vinegar/baking soda as soon as possible. We'll it's fixed so go treat yourself to some gaming, you've earned it.

The sad thing is, the only things that go down that sink are water with starch, and maybe some spilled rice. I just haven't dumped much of anything but boiling water down there in 12 years or so. It is my own fault for letting it get that bad. :meh:

Also fixing it myself is SO MUCH LESS COSTLY than hiring someone. I try to do as many of my own repairs as I can, since I know how, and I have more time than money...

As for back to hobbying, built 5 brutes and a maw-grunta gouger today, so woo!

Woohoo! I started saving the water from when I wash my rice for my plants. I'm jealous that you got to build, I had family stuff then had to go into work for an OT detail. I will live vicariously!

Yeah, isn't adulting fun?

How did that go? I don't want to adult anymore. Heck, I don't even want to HUMAN anymore. I want to goat. I want to eat whatever I want, jump all over the place, on and off of everything, and HEAD-BUTT people who annoy me. :D

So update. The Ironjawz I have are now all, successfully, assembled. This brings my Ironjawz army to:

1 Maw-Krusha boss
1 foot Megaboss
1 Tuskboss on Maw-Grunta
1 Maw-Grunta Gouger
2 units of 5 Brutes
3 Weirdbrute Wrekkaz
10 Ardboyz (new sculpts)
1 Warchanter
2 units of 3 Gore-Gruntas
Ironskull's Boyz
Morgok's Krushaz
(yes, I am still running the two Underworlds Warbands, Legends or not, because I can).

This has removed 3 boxes of minis from my pile of unbuilt minis, and into the big tub o' Ironjawz. I shall try to get them all based soon so they can hit the primer, and hopefully paint them this year? Maybe?

...of course, this still leaves me with unassembled stuff for:
Seraphon
Daughters of Khaine
Orks
Astra Militarum
Imperial Agents
Orcs and Goblins
Beastmen
Skaven (probably one of my biggest piles of unassembled right here)
Tzeentch Daemons
Khorne Daemons
Slaaneshi Daemons
(You might sense a theme with those last three: I am working on a 40K 'all the daemons' army, and them not having a dedicated codex anymore makes me angry... or maybe Angron? I still think he is like Johnny Flame from the Fantastic Four, but instead of shouting "Flame On!" he shouts "Anger On!," which gets slurred into Angron because of his fangs...)

...plus I still have to remove the remaining Ironjawz bits from the sprues and into the big tray of Ironjawz bitz...

It never ends, does it... :meh:

This is a better issue to have than no minis to work on. I was really good with my Skaven, Orcs, Empire, Wood Elf and Dwarf armies, all are built and most are fully painted. My High Elves aren't done other than a few units and being primed but almost all are built. My 30k armies... are mostly build with some paint. I'm trying to get work done so they aren't a pike of shame. I have loads of stuff due to a great former play group that traded models for building or painting. I need a game to help me focus on one project to completion. Pinterest is brutal.

Spent a decent part of my weekend basecoating these guys, now with the aim to have them painted and based by the 22nd.

That is, 40 Saurus Warriors, 30 Saurus Guard, an Astrolith Bearer, and an Oldblood on Foot, all told at 1600pts alone.

This past evening, it was getting shields prepped for contrast paint.

That new AoS Scar-Veteran BSB model is stupidly huge... makes even the Carnosaur Oldblood look like a midget.

Comparatively speaking, it's really just the crested headpiece that makes him look that much larger than the Carnosaur Oldblood. Apart from some matters of thickness, they're otherwise roughly the same size.

Assembled wingless hippogriffs for my Stormcast army... Oh, wait, GW calls them Gryph-chargers, because apparently hippogriff is a mythological beast that cannot be copyright-ed... :meh:

Seriously, working on a (very) small Stormcast army. Lord Vigilant on Gryph-stalker, Lord-Aquilor on Gryph-whatever, 3 Vanguard Palladors, 3 Stormstrike Palladors, and 1 Stormstrike Chariot = 900 points, 2 heroes, 3 units, and 10 gryph-things. ... ... and 2 Concussors I just won on ebay for less than half of what they cost new, giving me a new start to the second half of my all-mounted Stormcast army, 'dragon-things.'

I try to be nice with the the AOS names but just like the new space marine names I just can't.

Well, at least an army mounted on gryphs should be really good-looking ;)

Thank you. Likewise, I don't care if they're now the "Astra Militarum," they're always going to be the Imperial Guard to me.

It is an interesting theme. Tiny, TINY army - again, 900 points is 9 bases total, but once I get the basing done and prime them, I've got plans for a mix of greys, blues (especially an old jar of midnight blue I have lying around), purples, and whites for the mounts, and silver with blue accents for the riders...

...

...

Also, to annoy my sister, I have to paint up one of the hippogriffs like Gilda from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, with brown-grey fur and purple accents on whitish feathers...

Imperial Guard as well. I just can't call the Astra, same as my marines are marines no primaris or first blood, I believe they are called. Dark Eldar are not Drew Carrie others can have their fun but it's not for me.

Oh, Drew Carrie! I get it now! :hilarious: That one took me a bit, but that's on me, not you. :meh:

:D I have been the dork that still makes that joke for way too many years now. One of the kids at my local store asked me why it was so bad for me? I said beyond that I've been playing for decades and I'm just used to Dark Eldar, it's the fact that the Imperium calls them that. The xenophobic Imperium calls them by their preferred name and not just Eldar. Minor bug bear but it irks me.
