Warhammer Meme thread

You really fear the WoC don't you?

I just don't think that the fanatic list is particularly effective. There are too many ways it can be exploited.

I think it’s power comes from not being expected. If you know it’s coming you can defeat it pretty well.

I have to note at this point that I hate power-gamers who do stupid stuff like this. The fact that he’s been banned from several gaming sites tells me that I’m not he only one that thinks so.

Fair enough.

Personally I've never seen it that way. As far as I'm concerned, bring whatever list you like (as long as it conforms to the rules) and I am free to do the same. We can play hard lists or soft lists, either scenario is fun.

With this list in particular, I just don't see it as being all that scary. If things go great it has a chance of doing well, but there are a lot of ways for it to implode on itself, to name a few...
  • panic the army (hellcannon, SSC, etc.)
  • Kroak bomb all the fanatics out of the game with a single casting
  • draw out the fanatics prematurely with a fast moving (and expendable) unit
  • use to terrain to shield yourself (fanatics that come into contact with a terrain feature as removed from play)
  • Entombed Beneath the Sands (or some sort of ambusher) to show up behind enemy lines
Once the fanatics have been released they have just as much of a chance of hitting his own lines.

Agreed on the tactics (I laid out a Lizardmen only type of suggestion post earlier).

Fair enough. I would feel differently if I were going to a tournament I guess (never been :() but because I’m always playing with friends I want us both to have fun. My experience with the above is one of my friends who is very bad at sportsmanship and works out the biggest power plays possible. This has soured my view on it.

Don’t get me wrong! When I make my army list 8pI’m definitely playing to win! I have most fun with one specific friend who is a pretty good general (definitely better than I) and it’s very enjoyable to see both our set-ups interact.

It may be that this one guy I played with has given me a skewed view of it as I always appreciate a well put together battle line that complements itself and works with each part.
