I present... the Last Stand of the 212th Genswick Rifles!

View attachment 163934

Had fun messing with gimp to make this picture work with all the minis in focus. Only kinda worked... but I like how it turned out!

The remnants of the Iron Guard 7th Company reservists take positions along the 212th trenchline to bolster the resolve of the mortal guardsmen...

Harbingers of Taelus- Delegatus Lasraad now complete!

warden20250717_delegatus 1.jpg
One of the higher-ranking members of the Iron Council to survive within the ranks of Clan, the maimed consul was the first to cede leadership to Selok after the events of Istvaan. Inscrutable, terse, but loyal to a fault, Lasraad was found to be increasingly single-minded in his pursuits, to the point where as the heresy continued his cognitive faculties were increasingly questioned by his peers. Yet none could question his martial prowess, as on the battlefield he strode through the ranks as a living symbol of resilience and grit inspiring the legionnaires around him to fight on for the remnants of the legion.

warden20250717_delegatus 2.jpg
We were not born astartes, we were made. Made in the image of our father, who was in turn made in the image of his father.

But he was not truly his father, nor were we his grandsons.

We had our own, true fathers and grandfathers once, flesh and blood. Before we were scooped up and herded off to the gene pits to be sorted, crafted, smelted into soldiers of iron.

I used to mull over these thoughts... many times. The cogitive functions of my brain are now mostly excised along with most of my human form, replaced by the cold, unsentimental steel of machintata. It was born of injuries but has brought me tranquility.

- Consul Lasraad, shortly before his death during the Great Scouring. Injuries sustained resulted in over 75% of his body replaced by cybernetic implants.

Original inspiration for this mini was found on the internet, source unknown:

Very pleased with this guy as you can probably tell :D

'When the Smiling Ones arrived, there was an odd sense of relief amongst the men as the interminable boredom gave way to that fizzing excitement that preceded danger. Two weeks later and with casualties mounting, any sense of relief was gone.

'Why the hell did they come here?' we thought – until we realised that it wasn't minerals or strategic positioning that they sought. It wasn't even the prospect of outflanking the Eagles' position that they wanted.'

They were after us.'

Jade Talons Endurance Cadre, led by Veteran Noor, the Jade-Touched.

This chapter was created by @adams_james_creates for the War of the False Primarch project (index astartes article). Loved how the color scheme came out in my feeble attempt to harken back to Adam's beautifully painted style! Mine came out much more sloppy but the pics give them a nice gritty look. :D

warden20250726_jade talons 03.jpg

These marines were made with some Reiver bodies I purchased online, and the rest of the parts were sourced from my bits bin as I had plenty of infiltrator/incursor/reiver parts left over from my Deathwatch project.

The leader, who you have already seen I just redid his base a bit to be less bright tan, as it blended too much into his armor.

Reiver dudes:

Infiltrator dudes:

warden20250726_jade talons 05.jpg

And a peek into how I photographed all of these guys! Nice simple setup; the board is just foam with sand on top, a few plaster (I think) rocks from a terrain kit purchased over a decade ago, with a few coats/drybrushes of craft paint schlopped on top by me and my kids.

warden20250726_jade talons 06 behind the scenes.jpg

Undisciplined.... Reivers... Savages.... Consumed by the thrill of the hunt, that was their ultimate undoing under the baleful gaze of a false idol.

Painted up some Squats recently for Necromunda, played my first game with them last week too.

Ice Planet Squats!

warden20250823_ice planet squats 03.jpg

Obviously inspired by the Lego Ice Planet 2002 scheme from my 90s childhood.

Heavy machine gun/stubber and meltagun:

Heavy boltgun and mining laser:

First two test minis are not actually Necromunda minis but a cheap buy from the Leagues of Votann line that I picked up at my local store:

Gunslinger! Who did a fantastic job in his first game:

warden20250823_ice planet squats 05.jpg

And the big boss, Commander Cold (Charter Master) who is also a conversion from a discount mini picked up from the local game store shelf.

Looking forward to working more on this gang, they have been in my "to-do" pile for some time!

Dana Howl on youtube did something similar with (I think) Stargrave minis.
I think yours fit the theme better, great job.

What a unique look :)

Amazing work on these. They really look the part!

Obviously inspired by the Lego Ice Planet 2002 scheme from my 90s childhood.

I skipped this part initially and directly got the vibe of those 90's Lego sets.
Job well done.

Thank so much! I remember watching her video a long time ago, right around when I got inspired to buy these guys. I do like the color scheme

Yup, some direct inspiration there! We had a ton of legos as kids, my brother had a few ice planet minis that I remember playing with.

That and many hours on Lego Racers, top tier game :D

That winter effect turned out so well. They look amazing.

Painted a few more Aleph Infinity minis at the end of August (its been a few months since I painted any from this faction) and I enjoyed how they turned out. Mostly from the OSS faction (the guys who hunt rogue AI), except for this first lady the Myrmidon Hacker:

warden20250830_aleph myrmidon hacker.jpg

The Arjuna unit take to the battlefield with their Kiranbot helpers:

Arjuna Team 2:
warden20250830_aleph arjuna unit 3.jpg

Very easy to paint these dudes, I need to get some more dakini bots!

I also finished up a bunch of posthumans:

warden20250830_aleph posthumans.jpg

The posthumans are former living humans who have had their minds completly digitized and integrated into the internet with the permission (and the possible enslavement??!) by Aleph the AI of the setting, and have the ability to enter the battlefield fighting from multiple bodies at the same time. In this case all 5 of these guys/gals could be a single posthuman controlling them all!

Mark 4 Heavy Infantry posthumans, with missile launcher and HMG:

warden20250830_aleph posthuman heavies.jpg

Mark 2 sniper posthuman:

warden20250830_aleph posthuman sniper.jpg

And the mark 5 "skirmisher" posthumans:

warden20250830_aleph posthuman skirmishers.jpg

...and here is the whole batch!

Thanks @Killer Angel ! I haven't done as much painting as I wanted to this month... but I did finish my Legion Breacher Squad for my Harbingers of Taelus!

warden20250919_breacher squad 08.jpg

Painted a mix of heraldry on their shields, including the Gorgon's Head of course, as well as some more standard Iron Hands and a few other things.

warden20250919_breacher squad 01.jpg

warden20250919_breacher squad 02.jpg

Squad leader is made from the forgeworld breacher kit, along with half the squad. I was NOT happy with the casting quality of this kit. Worst quality resin miniatures I have ever worked with. I fixed as much as I could but am so glad I didn't buy two kits.

warden20250919_breacher squad 03.jpg

With his (magnetized) power fist he looks a bit like my toddler in the wintertime :D:cold:

Getting done with some more Adepticon backlog, these OOP Tohaa minis were my first buy of the event!

Oooh, Shiny mechanical beastmen :)
Verry nice!

Also love the Medusa squad. The different shields in a similar style really do it for me.
