How many tzaangor go in a unit? The battletome says 5, the GHB says 10 but I can't find out which one is newer. Plus, they seem rather powerfull to be used per 10.Anyone who knows?

I don't know specifically but I know that thier box is 10.

They are decent models too

Should be ten. The GHB17 trumps the warscroll.
Same with Dryads btw.

meh... that's kinda lame... any idea why they changed that specificly? They're fairly powerfull not like they need a unit of 10 to be somehwat effective like say saurus warriors do

Well, it is for matched play, in the case of Dryads it is is because you could have three incredibly cheap alibi Battleline units.
For Tzaangors I am not sure. Are they battleline too?

yea, but they're a 180 for 10, so 90 for 5 wouldn't be brokenly cheap for a battleline tax.

Why is battle line a tax?
It's a "tax" cuz it enforces certain minimum of stuff used in the army. It's also one of the few rules that enforces a minimum, as opposed to a maximum. Hence "tax" instead of a limit :P

I see. What are our battle line units, and how are they denoted as such?

skinks, saurus wariors and guards and Knights count if you go with seraphon allegiance. It's listed in the GHB (or in the newer battletomes like nurgle)

Thank you very much sir. If I ever decide to play some age of Sigmar or make an army dedicated for it I will remember that

Also, for clarity, battletomes obviously only list it for their own faction. GHB has it for all stuff current at the time of release :p

Powerful per 10 ? You should face 30 of them with 12 shields, max 2hand weapons. It is the most overwhelming single unit in the meta game right now by far. You just do not wanna mess with it :D:p

why would you only give em 12 shields?

And I mostly just mean it's weird to buy per 10. I don't think I've seen any other 2+ wound models that are used in bunches of 10.

Orruks have that regularly. Ironjawz Ardboyz and Bonesplitterz Savage Orruks for example.

but orruks are a horde-based army in general. So it fits.

Also, the fodder orruks don't have the other stats the tzaangor have, like a ward-save,

The Tzaangors really are more elite than those, that's right.

hence weird, don't think there's any other "elites" that come in 10.
I don't consider tzaangors elite. I consider them the slightly above-average beastmen of tzeentch
