The Random Thread of Random Randomness

It's all about manipulating the center-of-gravity. If you look closely, you can see the handles of the forks extend back towards the center of the cup. This pushes the point of balance back over the lip of the cup.

I thought so too, but the center of Gravity for a fork is around the little curve in the handle. Those are in line with the edge of the glass, so the weight and center of gravity from the coin are still on the outside...

I know there are people with a lot of time and patience (and no wargaming hobby) that can align objects along their center of gravity, so it perhaps could be real.

This looks pig-ignorant at first glance but...

The devil is in the detail hardware. We have here a stair well. There is clearly a regulation that all stairwells must have a double-railing. The stairwell also includes a fire hydrant or a fire-hose (some kinda equipment to help put out a building fire) that could not be relocated.

Therefore the railing wraps around the box that keeps civilians from messing with the fire-hose. Apparently, blocking access to it. However, at each end of the railings there is some kind of disconnect joint (firemen with have a key or tool to disconnect it) and if there is a fire the procedure is disassemble railings, open firebox, deploy hose pipe, turn on building water...fight fire.
