The never-ending battle against woke Hollywood and SJW infused entertainment media [trigger warning]

You are correct, that LOTR have less tolerance for BS. I believe that woke is not the only danger. I believe if you took the wokeness out of Rings of Power, it would be still be bad.

I've seen a few videos dissect all the many flaws I would say at once one out of three or one out of four of the flaws are woke related. Bad dialogue, bad pacing, bad characterization, bad fight scene cinematography, bad costumes, hack reveals, and unclear stakes are all unwoke related.
I both agree and disagree with you.

I do agree that many of these woke projects would be bad even if you removed the woke (for the reasons you outlined). However, in nearly every case, woke projects suffer from "Bad dialogue, bad pacing, bad characterization, bad fight scene cinematography, bad costumes, hack reveals, and unclear stakes". So I disagree that these elements are uncoupled from the woke problem, because when you prioritize the message above all, everything else suffers. It is theoretically possible to have a woke film that is solid in every other way, but time and time again we see that woke creators are unable to write and direct compelling stories. Their priorities are elsewhere and genuinely don't seem as talented as people who rose to creative positions based solely on merit. As such, I think they are intertwined and difficult to separate.

Ah poo... I was planning on watching it this weekend. Maybe I'll wait and see what some of my other reviewers think about it.

That is my thought, I'm going to sit and weight. My favorite Youtube reviewers have yet to weigh in on this directly, but the early reviews I've seen from other sources don't look promising.

At this point, no IP, no company, no director, and no actor is so trustworthy that I will trust them without looking both ways before crossing the street.

Even Bruce Timm has failed me enough times that I won't blindly trust things with his name on it. I think Bruce Timm is a very smart man with great creativity but like George Lucas and George R. Martin, he needs a trusted peer to occasionally tell him "no".

I'm waiting on either Jeremy from Geeks + Gamers or the Critical Drinker. Either one will suffice.

but I wanted to watch the whole thing first.
That's just what I did!

It sounds like it's not a woke and it's not a dumpster fire but it's not half as good as the original.
That's the impression I got as well. His review was mixed, having good things to say about elements of the film, but ultimately his opinion seems to be that it is a pointless sequel that undermines the original to some degree.

So I can legally stream Joker 2 for free or even cheap, I will do so later. But I'm not going to pay full ticket price so I can hold my bladder for 2 and half hours in a theater.

definitely something to be proud of, to spoil the reputation of a sailors country...
