Also, it wasn't Karl Marx's intent to keep his followers in a victim mentality forever. He thought there would be a true worker's paradise. I don't believe Marx lived long enough to see his dream fail over and over again.

Unfortunately, Karl Marx's brand of socialism doesn't work and it can only be sustained if the workers are kept in a state of manufactured fear.

But good intentions don't justify awful results. At least not for adults. I might give children a free pass, but adults need to take responsibility for awful consequences growing out of good intentions.

Also, I am okay supporting politicians and business leaders who do the right things for the wrong reasons, but that is a separate topic.

If someone is doing the right things for the wrong reasons you have to watch them closely. If someone is doing the right things for the right reasons, they don't need a lot of scrutiny and supervision.

In my opinion, Will Smith is not an instigator of woke culture, he is a victim of it where men are always the villains and women are always the victims.

That said, in my opinion there should be consequences for committing assault. But I don't want to see Will Smith never work again.

I suppose in terms of reputation damage, Will Smith has suffered adequate punishment for his portion of the responsibility for events.

Cracker Jack is rebranding their classic snack, Cracker Jills. They have even rewritten the Take Me Out to the Ball Game song because the song written in 1908 is sexist.

Land O' Lakes brand butter which typically used to show a young Native American girl holding some butter removed the Native American girl as offensive, but kept the name and the land from the picture.

In order to not be offensive, they took a Native American away from her land.

The Wokesters don't want to actually make things better, they just want to make noise and rewrite history.

I don't remember streaming service pulled Gone with the Wind because it was racially offensive before a backlash made them reverse course but it was pointed out that Gone with the Wind was the first time a black woman won an Oscar (back when the Oscars were still culturally relevant) and people were trying to erase the movie to make things better for black people.

It is probably intended to be permanent but when sales tank they will reintroduce Cracker Jacks.

It actually does make sense. There is a theory online that women are pushing into administrative, coaching, and marketing positions of men's sports extra hard as a backlash against the inclusive of male-to-female transpeople in women's sports.

I don't buy that theory myself, but I'll put it out there.

My personal theory is that this is a simply money grab.

Fantastic Beasts is not doing so fantastic at the box office. Why is this?

A) Because people are upset about JK Rowling's supposedly being a TERF, so they are boycotting the movie.

B) People are upset about Johnny Depp was cast out of the movie, so they are boycotting the movie.

C) People are upset about WB virtue signalling with a gay Dumbledore but they don't they left it out for China and other non LGBT friendly countries, so they are boycotting the movie either because they don't like the virtue signaling and/or they don't like the CCP pandering.

D) People are are upset about Ezra Miller's awful antics, so they are boycotting the movie.

E) Because the last movie was boring, poorly constructed, and poorly paced, so they are simply uninterested in this movie.

F) All of the above.


I give Warner Brothers a F.

Edit, while I have no interest in the Fantastic Beast subfranchise, I don't think WB is beyond saving. Everyone who signed off on firing Johnny Depp has been fired. The new boss of WB/Discovery seems to have his head on straight.

When you have a media company as large as Warner Brothers, course corrections are slow. I think WB is going to move in a better direction, but it will move in that direction glacially slowly. It's takes at least 3-4 years from a movie being pitched to a movie/television series to go from an idea pitch to the the big and little screens.

I don't expect good media to start flooding the screens, and I'm sure WB is going to release a couple more steaming turds in the next few years because of what is already in the pipeline.

It's one thing to not let a LGBT agenda overpower a good story. But the CCP is actually locking up LGBT just for who they are. They also doing that with ethnic and religious minorities.

Actually I'm not sure what the real CCP policy on LGBT Chinese people is. It is document that they are killing, torturing, raping, and reeducating religious and ethnic minority but I'm not sure what the CCP is doing with their LGBT citizens. Officially, China has no LGBT people in it.

I'm guessing that they are leaning heavily on the reeducation side of oppression maybe with a dash of rape. The CCP is extremely desperate to get their birth rates up and non-binary people generally do not have babies.

The CCP is not blocking LGBT media because they are fighting wokeness. They like wokeness...in the West anyway.

The CCP follows the Cold War doctrine started by the Soviet Union which is to infiltrate existing groups within Western countries that are inherently divisive because they want to sow dissension among their enemies, namely the Free World.

They are more than happy to signal boost Critical Race Theory in the West as long as China is never scrutinized under a CRT lens.


Though I guess I have no problem with the CCP denying money to corporations I don't like. If only the corporations I didn't like stopped giving money to the CCP.
