Kantor Blue should do the trick, it's an excellent matte navy blue from GW.

Tyranids are going to be in the 10th Edition box, but Orks are the one Xenos faction that got sizeable releases in both 8th and 9th, so there's nothing to say they won't get some new stuff again in 10th.

I like the plasma weapons in the bulldogs kit.

Most of my sci Fi stuff is 40k-adjacent, so:

My homebrew lore is that these guys are the descendants of a Mordian Iron guard regiment that, for grueling and meritorious service, were allowed to colonize a reclaimed world of the imperium (name still to be decided, suggestions?)

The descendants of this colonizing regiment have raised armies for the imperial tithe in the style of their forebears. As the world was partially industrialized into munitions factorums, the regiments utilize machining plasma-cutters (built from plasma-gun adjacent stcs) as replacements for expensive and comparatively rare plasma guns.PXL_20230410_200820754~2.jpg
 
A Venerable order of sisters militant is undergoing rearmament.

I was gifted an old full metal sisters of battle Army that was full metal and 100% infantry and jump Infantry, with no tanks.

I was gifted them 2 years ago and these have sat on the shelf in the to do pile since.

They will sit in a cleaning solution for about a week before I start repainting them after clearing off what remains.

I'm going to go for a very similar scheme just updated.

This isn't everything. There's another canister full that has already been stripped for early next week's painting schedule.

It's all related to the murder curse that Angron unleashed in the Ark of Omen novels, when he destroyed a psychic beacon... somewere, affecting the crusade Fleet Quartus that was trying to stop the invasion.
it was said that many regiments of guards, along with SM and Sororitas of the fleet couldn't manage the released warp energy, thus losing the entire expeditionary force to Chaos. The only exceptions were Custodes, Grey Knights and Sisters of silence.

Sounds like a Tuesday. It's not the first time we've heard of traitor Salamanders either. Given the murder-happy nature of the Black Templars however, I'm surprised it took destroying a psychic beacon to push them over the edge.

Granted, I'd honestly be most amused if most, if not all, of the Astartes in that crusade fleet were Primaris chumps. They probably were, given how expendable they've been lore-wise thus far.

Members of both the Black Templars and Salamanders falling chaos? Very interesting!

In the Dornian Heresy, the Salamanders fell to Chaos and were Malal-worshipping pyromaniacs intent on seeing the entire galaxy burn; some heretical Salamanders in that vein would be interesting to see.

Not surprised about the Templars going that route of course. Part of my backstory for my first 40K Army was a Templar-force that had been forced out of their home sector due to a chaos invasion, and were corrupted by a Nurgle-plague inspired by the Knights of Lazarus (basically Knights Templar but with leprosy). If I ever were to strip and repaint that army I would 100% paint them up to have a nurgle influence.
