The GREAT 40k thread

Not strictly 40k, but chaos guard players rejoice.

https://wargamesatlantic.com/blogs/news/army-of-the-damned

People keep bleating on about how these are for Traitor Guard, but to be honest they have more Chaos Cultist, Chaotic Imperialis Militia or even Necromunda Ganger vibes, especially the infantry who have autoguns rather than lasguns (though WA make loads of sets of Guard proxies with lasguns so it wouldn't be difficult for those who want Traitor Guard to kitbash some with lasguns). I myself am certainly interested in that infantry set for my Chaos Marine army, as it brings back the Dark Vengeance style of Cultists which I prefer to the new Daemon-mask Cultists GW tried to popularise through Blackstone Fortress, mainly because the Dark Vengeance Cultists can also be much more easily converted into Necromunda Gangers.

And is it me or are Ogres becoming a meme now among the Wargames Atlantic team, what with them spamming out Skeleton Ogres and Grognard Ogres on WA Digital as well as the Landsknecht Ogre set that started it all and now their attempt at Traitor Ogryns?

I can tell you from experience that the team just likes the ogres as a sculpting concept. Especially when there's so many options to play with

If anyone hasn't seen, the damned campaign has gone through a series of updates.

https://gamefound.com/projects/mwg--wargames-atlantic/the-damned/updates/15

EU backers are getting compensated in the pledge manager for the VAT they have to pay. UK backers can now select an option for no VAT charges.

Free sprues are now pick your own.

And they've teased mutants and heavy infantry. In several forum/Facebook posts.
