Star Trek Online created something called a "pattern enhancer" that lets you avoid interference in one tiny spot. This is good for video game missions because it gives you an objective spot.

Beam down to the pattern enhancer, fight through the bad guys grab the mcguffin (which is often people you are rescuing) and take the mcguffin back to the pattern enhancer.

You know, instead of beaming the mcguffin to your ship.
