AoS Seraphon V Death Rattle 1000 points

Necro and Wight King buffing, Skeletons as tarpit and as battleline, Mournguls for being an ass to your opponent.

Or perhaps this one: :D :D

Heinrich has two spells. One heals everybody, and you still have an arcane bolt or mystic shield available. The Skeletons are just to have three battlelines. Image the face of your opponent when you bring four Mournguls, BUAHAHAHAHA! :D :D
EDIT: this might actually be not THAT good of a list, but SO rage-inducing, it might just work.

Go big or go home... If you're not worried about objectives drop the Skeletons and replace them with Spirit Hosts and watch your opponent give up turn one.

I think that won't work with that list, Heinrich breaks Nighthaunt allegiance so Spirit Hosts are not allowed as battleline.

I'd replace him as well with something that didn't!

Yeah, you could use Cairn Wraiths, Banshees or something like that...

Ehhh... no, doesn't work. Even with their minimum size Spirit Hosts are too expensive point-cost wise.
Even the cheapest available hero (Cairn Wraith) is 20 points too expensive then.

Allegiance: Nighthaunt

Leaders
Cairn Wraith (60)

Battleline
3 x Spirit Hosts (120)
- Nighthaunt Battleline
3 x Spirit Hosts (120)
- Nighthaunt Battleline
3 x Spirit Hosts (120)

Behemoths

Mourngul (400)

Total: 2020/2000

What's 20 points between friends you're about to lose??

Would just have to have 3 Mournguls, another set of Spirit hosts, and another leader or two. Maths are not happening this afternoon to be any more accurate...

This one actually looks pretty scary, Spirit Hosts in groups of six are not bad at all I think:

Allegiance: Nighthaunt

Leaders
Tomb Banshee (80)
- General

Battleline
6 x Spirit Hosts (240)
- Nighthaunt Battleline
6 x Spirit Hosts (240)
- Nighthaunt Battleline
6 x Spirit Hosts (240)
- Nighthaunt Battleline

Behemoths
Mourngul (400)
Mourngul (400)
Mourngul (400)

Total: 2000/2000

Also imagine this hilarious conversation:

You: I have a list I'd like to try, is it OK if I bring 20 points more?
Friend: Sure, no problem! We are friends!
You: *sets up first Mourngul*
Friend: *sigh*. That OP thing? meh.
You: *sets up second Mourngul*
Friend: What? Two of them? Cheeser.
You: *sets up third Mourngul*
Friend: .... *blinks* .... *blinks* .... *puts his miniatures into his case, walks away*

That does look pretty ridiculous... Good lord no one would ever play you regardless if you fielded 3 Mournguls!

So evil, but it would be so funny to see the looks on people's faces!

Death can stack saves upon saves, and Deathrattle are truly masters in that, and even targetting the heroes is not so immediate, they have ways to protect themselves.
the general with save 5+, the Wight king with standard to save dead models at 6+, a liche priest as hierophant with the royal battalion for another save 6+ for dead models, then the banners to raise the dead...
it's a war of attrition you cannot win, unless you bring some heavy hitters, capable to seriously hurt large units in a single round.
Luckily, deathrattle are not so great in melee (barring a couple of unit, they tend to have no rend and inflict 1 dam)

a friend of mine uses 2 Mournguls, backed up by a ghoul king on terrorgheis and save 5+.

I saw his mourngul eat the face of a Frostlord on Stonehorn, but I also saw an Ironjawz army totally destroy that list at turn 4. Pretty brutal.

Mourguls can be killed... but they remain broken as hell.

Nice report, I enjoyed it. When I saw the wo Wight Kings with Axes I knew it was going to be a rough read.

I find that scenarios really make smaller point games feel harder, and prevent the smack/grind in the middle unless it's necessary. You did good though.
