I actually loved the whateveritis the moment I saw it. I went full Chibi Otaku mode and squeed. I almost said "Sugoi desu!!"

Some people are saying that the Porg is the new Ewok, but I don't think so - the Porgs are just little furry bird-like creatures that live on the cliffs of Ach-To like puffins do over here in Britain - they don't speak any form of humanoid language, just their own Porg language. They don't have a civilisation or anything and they won't be killing stormtroopers with stone age weapons like the Ewoks do in RoTJ, so I don't think they're anything to worry about @NIGHTBRINGER. Certainly they are going to be friendly and benign, whereas the Ewoks were initially going to eat Han, Luke and Chewie until C-3PO and Leia stopped them. I don't think it'll be the new Jar Jar either because Jar Jar could speak a pidgin form of Galactic Basic (English to you and me) in his squeaky voice (which is NOT RACIST because anybody learning English will speak a pidgin form of English for a while when they first start out), was clumsy and was generally a Frank Spencer type character (if you don't know who Frank Spencer is, look at this link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/somemothers/index.shtml), whereas I don't see the Porg being like that. I think it'll be just a harmless little creature that does its stuff and won't be annoying anyone, but of course some buggers who call themselves Star Wars fans who only like the 70s escapism of the originals with no CGI will throw a double six at it, but I consider anyone like that a waste of space. If you want to listen to those losers, go ahead, otherwise take what I have said in mind.

At this moment in time, all I've seen of the character is a second or two appearance on the trailer. So I personally have no real opinion about them. We'll see soon enough, one way or another.

Those people have a right to their opinion same as you and I. While I don't personally subscribe to their point of view, I do feel your stance on them is a little bit harsh. It would be no different for someone to claim that if you like Jar Jar you can't be a true Star Wars fan.

I suppose so, but the backlash that people like that show towards anything other than the Original Trilogy is out of hand - can you blame me for reproaching people who disrespect something that I am a massive fan of? True, I do point out plot holes in the Original Trilogy, but I don't devise ways to kill Luke or any other character like these extremists do to Jar Jar and other characters that they show hate towards. In fact there's one of these extremists who has released a poster that he made of a First Order Stormtrooper killing one of these new Porg creatures with a knife, before Episode 8 has even come out. It is sick degenerate scum like those that I have a 'little bit harsh' stance towards.

I ignore people like that as much as I can, but there comes a point when anyone would snap after having their favourite stuff ridiculed.

I think that's fair enough. I know if anyone came on here to criticise us for liking Warhammer, they'd probably regret it. Although the best thing to do with people like that, like you said, is try to ignore them as long as possible and only snap at them if they try to shove their opinion down your throat or go on about 'You're not a true fan if you like/dislike X'

Probably is an understatement there, mate - even if we wouldn't be able to drive them out, the forum devs certainly would descend upon them like a tonne of bricks. This is a Warhammer forum after all, where we talk about Warhammer and show others our magnificent armies ;). We talk about Star Wars and stuff as a side-effect...:D

Agreed. Luckily, there's nobody like that over here - we're all brothers in arms, fighting for the Old Ones' Great Plan! :joyful:

Hmmmm,

I love the original Star wars trilogy and don't care much about the others, I like them but I don't love them like the originals but I wouldn't shove that in anyone's face and try to get them to accept my point of view.

People have a right to an opinion whether we agree on it or not and we have to accept that or try too at least.
