That said, I am extremely excited for it. I know it will be a bad movie, but I know I will probably end up enjoying it anyways.

The most enjoyable bad movie was made in 2013. If you disagree, perhaps you can make a poll, "What is the most enjoyable bad movie?"

Then, we can have some people argue about what the poll options are. "No, insert movie name here isn't an enjoyable bad movie! It's a actually a good movie!"

"No, insert movie name here is not enjoyable at all!" etc.

We can still argue about which movies are or aren't popcorn movies.

I suppose a more polite term than "awesome dumb movie" or "dumb awesome movie" is actually "popcorn movie."

That's what my movie buff friend liked to describe these as.

That would be a nightmare! :p That's one of those threads/polls that will end up being more trouble than its worth for the creator.

As for Pacific Rim, I never liked that movie.

I will, but I fully admit that I am biased. I've enjoyed even the worst entries of the Jurassic Park/World franchise. I'm just here for some Dino goodness! :p

Absolutely nothing wrong with that buddy. Literally no-one on Lustria Online is going to have an issue with that.

I know that you'll be able to give an objective review though and I am curious (since I never progressed beyond the first two movies).

I have been following this thread for a while, silently because the only Jurassic Park film I've seen thus far is III, when I was quite a lot younger. I liked it funnily enough, in particular that it was so unexpected to see Spinosaurus take down the mighty and notorious Tyrannosaurus (even if nowadays it is believed this would have bee unlikely). I certainly plan to record and watch Park 1 and 2 next time they're shown on television, though like @Scalenex I just think the World films are a pretty pointless attempt to resurrect the franchise for PROFIT reasons so I'm reluctant to watch those.

The first Jurassic Park is a classic, a memorizing film to capture the imagination. The first two thirds of The Lost World was extremely good and the movie only gets a bit wonky once they get off the island. Overall though, it is still a pretty solid movie (and features my favourite character in the franchise). The third movie was a mess, but it still had a some moments to enjoy. The first Jurassic World movie is essentially a poor man's remake of Jurassic Park, but can still be enjoyed on a superficial level. Fallen Kingdom was a huge step down, with a few bright spots sprinkled in here or there. I maintain that the original movie and the first two thirds of the second one can be considered good movies. The rest of the movies were admittedly guilty pleasures for me, movies that a knew were objectively bad, but I found subjective enjoyment in them. In short, I've enjoyed all the Jurassic Park/World movies, even the bad ones... until now!

Jurassic World Dominion is awful. BY FAR THE WORST in a franchise that already has several duds. In my opinion it has no redeeming features. The whole movie is a disaster, but here are some of its pitfalls:
  • the movie is essentially a series of conveniences... one after another after another. Nothing feels "earned"
  • the dinosaurs play second fiddle, and feel pretty unimportant
  • too many characters and they come off as either bland or as shells of their former selves
  • the villain is neither threatening nor competent. The secondary villains were equally underwhelming.
  • the dinosaurs don't feel threatening, which is both reflected and caused by the character's behavior/reactions around them
  • the acting feels subpar
  • the climax feels anticlimactic
  • nearly nothing makes sense in the movie, it is illogical and filled with plot-holes
  • it possesses absolutely none of the Jurassic Park magic, not even for the briefest of moments
My recommendation is that you save yourself some money and time by skipping this one. Proceed at your own peril. Despite having low expectations for the film, I left feeling highly disappointed.

More evidence to suggest Jurassic World should be avoided. It's funny how it is looking increasingly like the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, starting off with a soulless carbon-copy and gradually getting worse and worse. Will make a note of this and only watch the Park trilogy.

As I expected. Another example of Hollywood trying to capitalize on an original movie concept to get money. I appreciate the review though my friend.

That's because, as evidenced in her cake creations, @Mrs. NIGHTBRINGER has high standards.
