Looks like Forge World is retiring the Chaos Dwarfs from their lineup. Anyone interested, should pick up what models are left ASAP. I came across this earlier on Facebook (with the caption "Forgeworld finally ended it")...

I went on the Canadian Forge World site, and we still had quite a bit more of the range in stock. That was in the morning, now at lunch time, several of those items are no longer available. My wife put in a final order (which will be for my Birthday) of a couple of units that I was missing.

This is what the Canadian site looks like at the moment:

Obviously stock will vary country by country, so it is best to visit your country's website. A few months back the Deathshrieker rocket launcher was listed as "No Longer Available" and it never came back. I'm not sure if this means they will be never be re-released, but the odds don't look good. We seen many great kits from the past permanently discontinued (including the epic Chaos War Mammoth).


With today's additions, my army is in pretty good standing. I could have used a second Magma Cannon and Deathshrieker, but at least I have one of each.

At least for me, this doesn't bode well for the future TOW. I would have thought that since the game was to be produced by Forge World, the Chaos Dwarfs would have been an obvious inclusion. 8th edition is looking better all the time!

Unless they're pulling these back as they're making new models (very, VERY, remote chance I know, but still possibility...)

That is a real damn shame.

I honestly can’t understand why GW would do this, especially as, like you say, the models for TOW (at least the new factions’ models) are going to be made by Forge World so why cut existing Forge World models that would fit in seamlessly? What are they thinking? (Indeed what were they thinking with the way they treated Chaos Dwarfs in general?)

My only guess is that maybe GW are just cutting them and keeping them in an archive until TOW arrives, as TOW won’t be for a few years, and we’ve seen before that GW doesn’t always immediately destroy the moulds for models they decide to stop selling (as we’ve seen in the Fantasy named character models that have returned through Made to Order), but I suppose it’s unlikely that this is true.

I don’t know what GW are planning with TOW, but the way they’re going they’re going to kill off all interest in the game before it even arrives.

They’ve made so many stupid decisions with it it’s ridiculous. But then they’ve buggered up so many opportunities to do some good in the recent past that I shouldn’t really be all that surprised.

Well, the only thing I can say that’s positive is that at least @NIGHTBRINGER will be getting a load more new Chaos Dwarfs for his birthday, which he may not have got (at least in such a quantity) if GW hadn’t decided to give them the axe.

I hear you! My interest in it is definitely beginning to wane.

Looks like I'll have two rare and discontinued armies.
