That is a nice force, but oh, that 80's/90's era basing! Goblin Green paint and a big jar of flocking! That takes me WAAAAY back!

Seriously though, jealous. I've been trying to scrounge up whatever Hobgoblin Wolf Riders I can find. So far, I have two, and they're going to exorbitant prices these days! o_O

Yes bases and colours very old school.
When GW first opened a store in Sydney, they actually refused entry to anyone who came in for gaming whose bases weren't green. I remember one poor young kid with a brilliant army on brown bases being told to leave the store.

Very short sighted of them. Unfortunately some of the company's decisions are still very narrow minded.

I’m assuming this was in the 4th/5th era when alongside the gaudy unit colour schemes, they all were given bright green bases? Good job they don’t have that mindset anymore because I’d have been thrown out of my local loads of times by now (my bases are brown with either grass or sand on them) :p

That’s even worse than their ‘round bases only’ policy they currently have with AoS (the difference between round and square bases works both ways because as well as square bases forcing the enemy to traverse a slightly bigger charge distance, they also give you that penalty) and their ‘GW minis only’ obsession (at least this one I do understand because they want to prompt sales of their own miniatures, though it’s still a bit mean).
