8th Ed. Mazdamundis Command Revealed *SPOILER ALERT*

Re: Nagash x Mazdamundi (WhiteDwarf SPOILER ALERT)

Do the LM even leave the forest?

Re: Nagash x Mazdamundi (WhiteDwarf SPOILER ALERT)

naaa they take the forest with them. :D

Re: Nagash x Mazdamundi (WhiteDwarf SPOILER ALERT)

Personally, I think High Elves are by far the most likely candidate. Both races were given High Magic in the latest army books, and they have the most in common otherwise as well. (Chosen of the old ones, shepherds of the lesser races, staunch enemies of chaos...).

Which has got me thinking which High Elf units I'd want to bring in a combined army. The thought of having access to bolt throwers, for example, makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Re: Nagash x Mazdamundi (WhiteDwarf SPOILER ALERT)

I would love to have the support of a Phoenix or two in my lizard armies. ASL and -1 strength when my Saurus or Temple Guard are toe to toe with the enemy? Yes please! Bolt throwers would be awesome as well. As would Dragons. I mean, lets face it, a dragon is just a really intelligent dinosaur with wings. :D

Re: Nagash x Mazdamundi (WhiteDwarf SPOILER ALERT)

Agreed on Phoenix.

I'd love to model one as a coatl and use it to provide some early threats to my opponents' back lines - especially after a Tetto vanguard.

I'd actually go fire version for the ability to lay damage on things after the vanguard. Also, I'd convert one to not be all spread out and hard to put in the middle of stuff. :)

I've been thinking the exact same thing literally from the second I heard the allies rumors

"9th may contain allies and-
*NOISY QUIZ BUZZER*
FROSTHEART AS A COATL!"

I might even make one even if it doesn't become possible.
do you have any ideas?
So far im at:

- Phoenix wings (probably fire due to frost-crystals not fitting)
- Phoenix body with the legs removed and gaps filled (feathers can easily go for scales)
- Possibly a Forrest dragon's tail
- I have no clue for head...I still haven't found something serpent enough to justify it.

Speaking of HE I would also go to town on their casters for lores like shadow and light outside the slann....
possibly add 5-10 sisters of avelorn to nit of regen on those troll/beast of nurgle/vampire counts for skink pleasure and sally safety.

Re: Nagash x Mazdamundi (WhiteDwarf SPOILER ALERT)

I just hope that every race will be addressed in the book itself. From the spoilers, all we know is that Mazdamundi tries to get stuff done and that "the jungle burns" (whatever this may mean....). Some rumors say, that the next two books will be around chaos altogether (book number 2) and shaven (third book). Book four may deal with everything else. Since the second book could be centered about our arch enemy, Lizardmen could play a major role in this book.....At least i hope so.

Since the campaign seems to clear the path for the next edition, what could be our worst case scenario? More dead slanns? Lizzies having to leave Lustria?

Talking about allies.....i just hope they do not use the 40k-rules for this. Not a fan of taking mandatory HQs and Troops or the ally-chart at all.

Re: Nagash x Mazdamundi (WhiteDwarf SPOILER ALERT)

Perhaps the jungle burning is the Southlands and not Lustria. The Slann in the Southlands are kind of disconnected from the Slann of Lustria. And being closer to Khemri and the lesser races, they might get pulled into the Nagash battles sooner than the Lustria Lizardmen.

Re: Mazdamundis proclamation *SPOILER ALERT*

"The Grand Plan has failed. The Exodus must begin."

Finally. Time to release Mazdamundi upon the world :3

Watch it be a T5, 4+ armour save monster trolol

I hope they don't overload fantasy with allies like 40k. I really really don't like allies.

I have the book in hand and am very pleased to inform our community that the Undead Legion rules and the Lore of Undeath are 100% legit (as much as any other Army Book or Lore) for use in ALL games of Warhammer.

You do not, in any way, need persmission to play with the new army. At all.

They make it clear multiple times in just the first 4 pages alone that these are rules designed to be used "in any other games of Warhammer you would like" to use them in.

Of course, as with all things, your opponent can refuse to play you, or your local Tournament Organizer can run in fear and refuse to allow you to play by the rules, but if this happens, it would be the exact same as saying "The Empire book is not allowed in this event" or "Man, your Warp Lightning Cannon is too hard for me to beat, so I don't want to play against your Skaven army."

There is no grey area. GW have actually spelled it out really damn clearly.

Thank Sky Cake.

Sooooo... Mr. book in hand, did we get any kool Lizardy goodies ?

Meh. I will hold off judgement until I see how the balance works out.
