Sounds good, I do have some cold ones I could turn into razordons as there is no way I will be using so many saurus knights. I was wondering about the steggy as I am going to be getting one soon :D

Wrote this guide for someone who was looking to run triple Carnosaurs. Then I realized they were playing at 1500 MPP. I decided to post this here because I didn't want to waste the last 30min of my life that I spent theory crafting. lol

This list is a fluffy Carnosaur filled one drop with 3 Artefacts.

Battalion Units placed in the Heaven's:
  • Oldblood on Carnosaur
    • Artefact: Doppelganger's Cloak
  • ScV on Carnosaur
  • 10x Saurus Knights

Aretfact Overview:
Sword of Judgement will allow you to deal potentially massive damage to enemy elite units who have high saves. If you use your Oldbloods command ability four times then your ScV should have 14 attacks with 6+ to hit dealing D6 Mortal wounds. The Deepstriking Oldblood with Doppelganger's Cloak will garantee that it gets to swing at full profile when at your final pick in the battle round. This will allow you to swing earlier with your Serpent's Staff Buffed Oldblood while devaluing the return swings from your opponent's attack sequence. Finally Miasmic Blade will help to keep your thrid Olblood healthier longer. Ideally you want to send this one into a unit with 4+ or worse to hit prior to the modifier of Miasmic Blade.

Quick Guide:
  • Deploy Skink Starpriest near Slann
  • Deploy Oldblood on Carno near Skink Starpriest as far up as possible.
  • Use Serpent's Staff on Carno
  • Cast BwV on Slann
  • Cast cogs with Skink Starpriest
  • If cogs goes off LoSaT Slann on BwV up field for range of battalion's deepstrike
  • Drop Carnosaurs and Saurus Knights
  • LoSaT Slann back to near cogs
  • Set Cogs to Speed
  • Use the deep-striking Oldblood's command ability 4 times.
    • This should mean 10x attacks on your ScV's Spear
    • 13x attacks on both Olblood's Carno Jaws (one of which will do 6 Damage a wound)
  • Move your third Carnosaur up to join the others.
  • CHARGE WITH DINOS!
In the majority of cases you want to take second turn if your opponent isn't fast enough to reach your core units on their turn. This is to chase the potential double turn with relatively healthy Carnos. However, if your opponent can reach and kill your vulnerable Slann or they castle up and you can trap them in their deployment for two of three turns then take the first turn.

Don't be afraid to retreat your Carnos from a loosing fight unless it will free up enemy units to grab objectives. Try to use your Saurus Knights to block enemy units from effective pile ins on your Carnos. You want to avoid your behemoths being enveloped by the enemy. you will likely need to focus your summoning efforts on skinks. This will cause your opponent to choose between you being able to Wary Fighter on objectives all game or fighting your big dinos early and tiering them.

The Saurus Astrolith Bearer can be removed and one unit of 10x Saurus Knights reduced to 5x to accommodate room for a 4th Carnosaur.

There is 30 points floating for additional endless spell, but I would rather bid for the Triumph roll.

Can it truly be, another Lizardwizard list without Razordons?

Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 97

Battalion Units in the Heavens:
  • Dread Saurian
  • Scar-Veteran on Cold One
  • 5x Saurus Knights
  • 3x Razordons
Quick Guide:
  • Deploy Skink Starpriest near Slann.
  • Cast Chronomatic Cogs with Skinks Starpriest.
  • Cast Balewind Vortex with Slann.
  • LoSaT Slann into place for battalion deepstrikes if needed.
    • If not use two LoSaT to move both on board units of Razordons into position.
  • Drop Battalion units from the havens.
    • LoSaT Slann back to cogs if needed.
  • Set cogs to move speed.
  • Buff Dread Saurian with Serpents staff if in range.
  • Shoot with 9 Razordons!
  • Charge with Dread and Saurus Knights.
  • Use Saurus Knights to block the flanks of the Dread Saurian to reduce enemy pile in on it.
Overview:
In most circumstances you will want to take second turn. This is to allow for the double turn with a relatively healthy Dread Saurian. Ideally you will be able to place your Slann up the board aggressively to allow for the Battalions deepstriking deployments. If you not then make use of LoSaT to allow for the battalions drops. Use Razordons to clear up screens and roadblocks for the Dread Saurian. Try to send the ScV on Co into a horde unit for best use of Betrayer's Crown. Focus your summoning efforts on Skinks for taking enemy objectives.

To get the greatest value from the Dread Saurian you will need to carefully pick your fights. Avoid combat that will result in the Dread Saurian being enveloped by enemy units. Also avoid combat with the Dread where the enemy will have multiple strong units attacking it at once. The goal should be to remove enemy units from the board and then move onto the next. It is better to engage units that will be over killed, but be able to move on from than to get bogged down in combat.

I was just wondering, due to the space the Dread Saurian needs, will ever be possible to deep strike him considering also the terrain and obstacles?

Well, if you can't deepstrike him you likely can't move him. The base size is a major factor into me not using them ever.

yeah, with 10 terrains on the battlefield, plus the ones placed by certain armies, and possibly certain endless spells... the movement of a model with a base big as the one of the DS, is severely hampered at best

So my question is; is a dread saurian even worth the cost or is it more suitable to have 2 carnosaurs? Such a big base and a huge target on its back with only 16 wounds doesn’t sound that appealing, especially during the games I have seen where super expensive monsters have been gutted by infantry of lesser cost

The fact Is that It has been a gift of my brother and is really beatiful, i want to be competitive but without loosing the "Eye" and funny part of It. So i was developing a possible list until i have seen the post and ask for suggestion. But i will use it only in friendly game i suppose, is also quite difficult to bring along ><

I think you have one unit to much starting in the heavens in your 2000pt Kroak+Slann Mortal Wound Spam list
