It was a one time forge world release for gamesday.

That's true... but this model seems to be exceptionally expensive... even by our hobby/GW pricing. But you never know when you might catch a good deal on Ebay, I've seen it happen before.

True. I did once get a Forgeworld item for one of my 40K armies for 30% of the original price...but i didn't get any instructions on how to build the 89 piece model, that was stressful :(
 
I have a few of the tiny salamanders I accidentally purchased on ebay not knowing what they were. I just thought it was 6 old model salamanders for cheep. Since I have considered getting the stegadon because, adorable.
I always figured I'd use them for basing, but never have.

Stressful... but still damn worth it for that type of a bargain!!!
 
I'll have to post my list of Slann here sometime :D but I don't have kroak yet :(

Here you go, that's the GW warmaster crested stegadon.
Could be something fun to convert, I don't think it would be too hard for any budding hobbyist.

There are still those that play and Homebrew with the game.

There's a guy who produces a slightly expensive tomb kings type army for it too
