Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - August 2019

This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

Note: Previous months can be found in the vault http://www.lustria-online.com/forums/the-vault.40/

Blimey that took a while ;)

(Joking, I took so long to paint my High Elf Spearmen that they extended right up until a couple of days ago, so I can't talk either )

Anyway, I'm aiming to make some movement trays for my models on 25mmx25mm square bases using one of the last sets of Modular Movement Trays GW ever made, as I got some of the pre-made Fantasy trays for 20mmx20mm bases ages ago when I had just Dwarfs and Night Goblins and now I've got some Lizardmen and Orcs as well I need to make some 25mmx25mm-compatible trays to save the pain of moving 20 Saurus Warriors around by hand...:hungover:

Middle of the month has been achieved. No progress to report. At least on models or terrain.

I did draw a Necropolis in aid of helping @Scalenex flesh out his RPG world....not sure that counts. ( But in case it does here is a link )

Well, my birthday hall is coming up soon (you will be alerted when) but it will contain a huge amount of seraphon for me to work on. Such an amount that it is near impossible to get everything battle ready at the end of the month, but it’s going to be a LOT of fun

My OCD prevents me from doing that. I once tried, but ended up having a huge case full of paint and stuff with me. And then I missed my lamp and table and just didn't feel like painting that way.
But it's ok I've been a slow painter anyway, lately.

Working on my Twin Bastiladons (you can see my initial progress in my blog). I just ordered some more Skinks for summoning. I want to do a different paint scheme for my summoned skinks so I'm looking forward to doing some test schemes. I always enjoy struggling through coming up with a paint scheme and learning how to execute it.

I'm getting a lot inspiration from actual lizards this time.

Finished most of my movement trays but ran out of green flock card to stick onto the last one, so have been painting my Orc Big'uns until I can get some more.

Is this something you create yourself or a thing that is purchased?

The latter. Woodland scenics make sheets of card with flock on them, principally for shaping hills but I’ve found it useful for decorating my movement trays without the need for paint or regular flock - just cut out a square or rectangle equivalent to the size of the tray and stick it down with a good bit of PVA.
