I have voted for less in the past. Most don't like it, but it is 'up to' five. I didn't this time around. I understand your sentiments, voting for 1/3 is a lot, but always the cream rises and the second tier stories split votes.

On a serious note, 3 votes may have been plenty. I feel I had one extra vote, although there were people who were agonizing over just 5 votes. How many votes did we do in the past?

As far as I can remember this is the protocol, 1 vote for every three entries.

This rule I implemented seemed to be well-received since most people like voting. You are never required to use every vote. If popular opinion changes, I will cut back the number of votes.

I think between: one vote per three entries and one vote per four entries is a good ratio.

I think that the number of votes should always be rounded down. (If there had been only 14 entries; then only four votes.)

Hey Scalenex while you're here - can we please start getting our comps back up on the banner headlines? Maybe not during the submission phase but during voting the rest of the forum really ought to be noticing the quality we have here in fluff and stories.

I mean, I know we can't aspire to be as Important and Worthy as the high-and-mighty model makers, but the golden serpent comp still has a banner for something that ended five months ago. And it looks like there's something called "AOS" as well?! Who even are these goons?

None of us lesser mods have the power to control that, unfortunately. We will have to ask nicely.

Fun bonus fact, if you're logged in you can click the little X and it goes away. I clicked mine a long time ago and has since forgotten the pleasures of the banner.

I clicked the little "x" in the corner of the screen and then I couldn't see anything at all, except my desk top background.
You're a stoopid moderator Qups.

More votes smooth the curve, make for exciting almost draws and allow for consolation or well done for entering votes. If we were playing for big money, less votes would be better.

The math used until now has been good, but if entry numbers keep growing, it might be good to cap the max vote numbers at 5. We can discuss it during the next comp entry phase. We could even poll it.

It's a shame you can't vote like 5 votes to story x, 4 votes to story y, 3 votes to story z etc.

Like a rating system?

I think he means you have an allotted amount of votes (10 per say) and you can disperse however many you want across the board, adding more than one vote to an option (A gets 3, B gets 4, while C, D, and E get 1 each).

Not so big on that idea. I think it would be extremely unbalanced. However, the concept of allocating points to each story rather than voting might be an interesting concept.

I think the polling system is unable to support that. Unless it can have two questions in one thread..??
