I've been unable to post for the last few weeks due to school work, but now i've got all the start of year tests over i've been able to continue with the bastiladon. It's almost finished (it just needs the skinks and possibly some improvements).

As always please throw out your tips and improvements.

Does anyone know how to paint something to make it look like an old, stone ,monument?

I have no 'special' colours, but I have normal reds and browns.
I was thinking I could use some putty to make vines..

Thanks again all!

Someone here on the forum recommended the following recipe for painting stone on bases... Think it was @Bracnos...
Basecoat with a medium grey (or any you like depending on what kind of stone you do)
Wash with nuln oil
Dry brush with the same grey used as base
Dry brush with a lighter grey and/or white.
Wash with agrax earth or seraphin sepia
Done.
I like to do the last dry brushing in white before the final wash...
Should work for baseing and terrain... Don't know if suitable for models...

Edits: and you can just add a green wash somewhere to create a mossy greenish look.

Also a base coat of a dark grey, then using a small sponge, some browns and light greys. experiment in some cardboard first, but the sponge gives some great textures to the design.

For texture there was a video I watched on liquid greenstuff you can like brush it on in specs so it looks crumbly and dirty it might work well work making a stone monument look like it crumbles abit with erosion I don't know - experiment :)

This should help you to understand what I am talking about. This guy is great for stuff like this on the cheap.
