GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

I thought nothing could compete with your beloved Fyreslayers? :wideyed:

Ah well, I wasn't so interested before @Lord-Marcus provided the spark that became my Elf Hoplite idea, because I didn't think much of the bald, blind infantry, but now I have the Hoplite idea they look quite promising for a potential army.

Nevertheless, I'm still waiting for that Fyreslayer update where they get Warscroll Cards and Ungrim Ironfist returns to stomp Alarielle into the ground...

Is that rumored at all?

No, it's my personal request. :p

Are you sure about that? Have you seen those thighs? That girl has put in the work at the gym!

Have you seen that axe?

And this is just the old model - imagine, if GW were able to exaggerate Alarielle's thighs that much, imagine what they could do with the Axe of Dargo!

Also Ungrim was so much better than Alarielle as a character in 8th Edition - certainly fluff-wise, but perhaps also game-wise - and yet they choose Alarielle to bring back, which is the most ridiculous thing about it.

I dunno about Ungrim Ironfist, but I've read that they're bringing back Gotrek Gurnisson, in the books at least.

Indeed they are, which I'm very pleased to hear about - he's so much of a beast that not even the End Times could kill him off.

Hopefully they will follow this with a miniature with him and rules for including him in a Fyreslayer army. Fyreslayers need some special characters. Fjul-Grimnir is the first although he isn't that much different from a regular Runefather. What Fyreslayers need is a character with vastly different rules to those we've seen before, possibly either an old Fantasy character like Ungrim or Gotrek, or even a brand new one.

I'd still bet on the giant beetle.

Ah but I’m expecting Ungrim’s new model to be riding on something fearsome like an oversized Magmadroth or a lava elemental or something - Alarielle’s original model was on foot, and she got something to ride on, so I’m expecting Ungrim to get a fearsome steed too, which will make the fight more even.

I'm betting on allariele putting his head in thigh lock and crushing his skull

You forget he has a helmet made of the finest Gromril, which I imagine a newer model would keep. Also she has to get through the Axe of Dargo first, as well as the fact he was the Incarnate of Fire, which I imagine a new version of him would retain. Just as Alarielle was the Incarnate of Life and became the Goddess of Life, Ungrim would become the God of Fire. Also fire burns trees.

So what your saying is her thighs would get burned up but she would constantly reheal them so my theory about the head crushing W/thigh lock works without counting the helmet

Oh dear, don’t you remember what Flaming Attacks does to Regeneration (which is what Alarielle would have had if her goddess self was a Fantasy character)?

Those are my two favourite as well!

Better hope she doesn't bring along a 5pt Dragonbane Gem! ;)

If she was a named character in Fantasy she wouldn't be able to do so anyway unless her character specifically either came with a Dragonbane Gem as part of her Wargear or if she had an upgrade in her army list profile saying "May take a Dragonbane Gem" or "May take magic items up to whatever points". Named characters have the disadvantage of not being customisable to suit your chosen playstyle or defeat a specific opponent army.

I am well aware of how special characters function under the WFB 8th edition rules.

Ok sorry - I didn’t realise it was a joke, thought it was a genuine argument to try and say that Alarielle is better than Ungrim. My bad. :sorry: I should have seen it was a joke when it was talking about Fantasy not AoS. But true, if something like a Treeman Ancient has a Dragonbane Gem, things wouldn’t be looking so good for the Incarnate of Fire version of Ungrim.

And you’re right, it is a classic Foghorn Leghorn situation. ;)
