GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

Yeah I think with the new not-blighttree things AND Nagash AND the heroes the regeneration is good again.

The problem was: When we took a look at those new warscrolls we only noticed that all the old regeneration was gone (the banners) and the new regeneration required heroes nearby. And that combined with
- Wight King losing his Standard
- Axe Wight King losing his great armor (he does not half wounds anymore!)
- Axe Wight King has his axe ability changed
- Necromancer koses his ability to transfer mortal wounds

...sounded like a nerf across the board. Especially since all those heroes are kinda squishy.

Of course we were aware that there was probably going to be some cool stuff coming but the fear was that it wouldn't be enough.#
Now it looks much more positive.

But bearing in mind each of these heroes can heal 2 or 3 units by D3 every turn and this effect is cumulative, so 2 low-level heroes can heal up to 4 units by d3, that's pretty scary. Vampire Counts seem to have turned into Tomb Kings in terms of healing units. Certainly it is a big buff for all non-Flesh Eater Court Death players which I imagine is probably very much appreciated by a large number of players. There are these small debuffs around, but it has to be balanced - although it would be amusing to see Alarielle and the Sylvaneth get stomped by a massively overpowered death army, it wouldn't be fun for any non-Death players.

Also it's a good job most Fyreslayer units have AoS versions of Ward Saves...

I'm waiting to see what they are planning for nighthaunt, but my approximate plan is a bunch of spirit hosts, backed up by some deathly Wizards or necromancers of some kind... And then 2 mornguls to cause chaos. The death malign portents hero is a fine ghostly model.

Waiting for the book, obvs..

It’s on preorder from the 3rd

They're doing something each day this week for the new Death stuff. The good news is that you can put together a decent Death force for a comparatively small amount of money vs some other armies, so having a Death army on the side isn't a massive outlay. Except for the painting...

Prime white, Nihilakh oxide wash, job done :D (90% of mine are getting this)

Yup, this is what I am planning too... Don't forget to glaze the highlights white... Or dry brush if you're lazy again after!

I drybrushed my first few Spirit Hosts when I started painting this time last year. I don't like them now... So think I might just do a really quick glaze highlight on the... cou24gh Spirits hosts I have lined up...

I also need to strip the 6 I have. Is biostrip what people are using who can't get simple green etc... Us Europeans?!

How does that work out for you? Do you soak it in it for a while?

Yeah just dunk them in and leave it, check them every 30 mins usually done in an hour but don't put finecast in they can go soft.

I'll have to order some and see how it goes. I also need to pull them off their bases which is going to be more of a challenge.

Just gently hold one part attached to the base with clippers and gently pull - clippers give so much more leverage than just your bare fingers. Works for my minis...

Yeah, normally that'd be okay but the Spirit Hosts suffer from being fiddly little bastards, and the bases I made for them are sculpted out of modelling clay and they're superglued under it, and then sculpted over. It's gonna involve chipping stuff away first and then hoping the superglue has brittled up...

The different faces of all the people that will face that army.

Graveyards are going to markers, not terrain pieces. I am, however, obviously going to make a set of markers with gravestones on them... The only question is what base size to go with?! I've got loads of great gravestones to use.
