GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

Happy LVO day! Should be some juicy infos coming out tonight...

We have the new FAQ.

the effect of the Engine of the Gods on a 18+ is now changed (no more an additional free turn, but all frendly seraphon gain double move and double the number of all Attacks.
Still very strong and potentially game winning.

But nothing has been said for the "summoning effect", which remains the same (useless) effect... :meh:

Yeah, that's a pity. I guess they just don't see why they should change it, because they think many many people are playing open or narrative battles, which still allow free summoning.

For now I will always ask my opponent whether it is OK if 14-17 means "pick one of the lower results". Works pretty well IMO.

@Ritual

On first glance: Yes.
On second glance: Heroes (especially Wight Kings but Necromancers as well) got a lot worse (there were some warscrolls leaked which are the source I use) so.... we will see I guess.
I hope Nagash doesn't become a "must take" unit.

But the other stuff sounds kinda nice....

I've been discussing that up and down with a few guys over at TGA and until now the reaction of most Death players was rather negative actually. But we'll see how that changes in the next days. I have high hopes since Death is is second army.

There was something that was brought up but can't see it in the FAQ, a few people mentioned about the FAQ update affecting Blot Toads in a Shadowstrike starhost, how the Rippers are off board and can't deploy their Blot Toad at all as it is an ability and now units off board can't use abilities.

Sure some units took a hit, but being able to restore units again is a massive boost.

Hmmmm

This is off the community page,

If you love Deathrattle units, then you’ll find the Grand Host of Nagash the perfect allegiance. For one, you’ll be able to take Grave Guard as Battleline in the army, and for another, there are a couple of Command Traits and artefacts that specifically aid these most relentless servants of Death. Lord of Nagashizzar, for example, allows you to maximise the attacks of a nearby unit. Combine it with a nearby Wight King and a Necromancer casting Vanhel’s Danse Macabre, and you could quite easily get 162 (yes, one hundred and sixty-two) attacks out of a unit of 20 Grave Guard.

A note to my erstwhile editors – my calculations here are based on a unit of 20 all getting their attacks – not implausible thanks to their small base size! The unit has 2 attacks base, plus one for the champion. This is then increased by 2 by the Wight King and the Lord of Nagashizzar ability. This brings the unit up to 81 attacks – which, attacking again with Vanhels would give you 162 attacks. WOW.

Sounds ok to me

With 3+ to hit and 4+ to wound with -1 rend (currently) that's pretty sickening.

Yeah it's not bad even if you only had a unit of 10 the attacks are scarey!

So glad I started Death again :D

Yeah I think with the new not-blighttree things AND Nagash AND the heroes the regeneration is good again.

The problem was: When we took a look at those new warscrolls we only noticed that all the old regeneration was gone (the banners) and the new regeneration required heroes nearby. And that combined with
- Wight King losing his Standard
- Axe Wight King losing his great armor (he does not half wounds anymore!)
- Axe Wight King has his axe ability changed
- Necromancer koses his ability to transfer mortal wounds

...sounded like a nerf across the board. Especially since all those heroes are kinda squishy.

Of course we were aware that there was probably going to be some cool stuff coming but the fear was that it wouldn't be enough.#
Now it looks much more positive.
