GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

I guess it will be up for preorders this Saturday, so if there aren´t any leaks previously we´ll known on Saturday. I guess it´ll provably be around 120€

Well, this has been quite a weekend, right?

First, a little look at our sister game, because they are having a time with the Fall of Cadia, and commemorating Duncan's Tip of the Day number 100:

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/13/friday-13th-unlucky-for-some-but-not-duncan/

The Gyrinx is a cat-alyst, because they are alien cats, and also catalyses. Yeah. But they amplify psionic powers, so they are priced amogst Eldar and important leaders of the Imperium. Is a cool looking cat and a nice colour scheme. This is also the model teased on the last Rumour Engine from 2016.

The Eldar from the artwork also reminds me this leak too: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2016/12/14/rumour-engine-december-14th/

This could be lots of fun for aelvish convertions.

We also have two new books, on of them showing the cities that were founded after the last year's Season of War fleshing out the world with lots of detail, and an anthology from the past Fyreslayers, Pestilens and Sylvaneth books: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/14/primarchs-plots-and-paperbacks/

Now, the big stuff, the first wave of mutant, sorcerous abominations from Tzeentch, this week: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/14/change-is-here/

The new Acolytes come in boxes of 20 (two 10-man units) at £30 pounds, quite a reasonable price from GW, and they are releasing the Ogroid Thaumaturge and Gaunt Summoner on foot from Silver Tower at £25 and £15, respectively, quite not-reasonable price from GW.

There are also rebases for Tzeentch Chaos Lord on disc/now Fatemaster and the Curseling/Vilitch back in Fantasy.

But there will be two more weaves this month; the next week will release Tzaangors, and the next after that, daemons: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/14/more-change-is-on-the-way/

This points out to be quite a year. And I like how is shaping out.

I'll see you later.

The Sigmarines have bolters now?!?!

The Sigmarines have bolters now?!?!
The have bows on the end! They're most definitely fantasy-esque and not at all a cynical manoeuvre to further tap into the Space Marine aesthetic.

To be fair, it does sound like they're adapting to the negative feedback from the Age of Bulkmarines.:

The sleeker armour of these hunters allows for more dynamic miniatures compared to the heavy-hitters found in many Stormcast Eternal battlelines. They also have a much more feral appearance, draped in furs and pelts, and feeling much more like an army that is at home in the wide realms, rather than a fresh new arrival from Azyr (as the Stormcasts were when we were first introduced to them).

One hopes this is a new design frontier rather than a one-off.

@pendrake did you wish really hard recently? ;)

Wait, the Sigmarines have human faces?!?! I really thought they were more like living armor. Before you cast judgement, I don't know any lore about them other than they are reborn everytime they die.

If I ever buy a Stardrake I want that human head for the rider,

No, the name is not "Febrigmar", but they are doing serious updates for the Stormcasts this February:

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/23/the-vanguard-of-the-storm/

So, they will release a new SE Battletome, which will have the format of the Disciples of Tzeentch Battletome; battle traits, artifacts, spells (named "prays" for them), Stormhosts specific abilities, and events of the Realmgate Wars, including Sigmar’s new cities.

Also, this guys:

And even more, including new beasts, like the Aetherwing and the Gryph-chargers. No full images of those guys yet but it's quite evident that the Gryph-chargers are Stormcasts-scaled Demi-gryphs. And that is awesome. And we actually got a small preview of those Gryph-chargers already: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/11/rumour-engine-january-11th-2017/

And tomorrow have another reveal from next month's releases.

Also, curiously enough, GW is taking out the Judicators boxes, at least on the inernational ad British websites, so I would expect a rebox in the same way as some earlier reboxes from AoS: boxes at the same or slightly more expensive price than previously, but packing more model.

I like quite a lot this models, more than the previous models actually (although the crossbow/guns look weird). More realistic and natural (as it gets) imo.

Now let's go to Blood Bowl: Blitzmania, the global BB, is up!: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/20/blitzmania-the-global-blood-bowl-league/

And the Warhammer Community team has been sharing lots of teams and conversion ideas, including a Lizardmen team ;):

Okay, let's check the new Tzaangors released this week: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/21/tzaanuary-tzaangor-day-jan21/

The regular Tzaangors have solid rules; 2 wounds, +5 saves, 6" move, 6 bravery, can run and charge in the same turn, can deal D3 mortal wound for each Wizard within 9" for each roll +4, +1 to wound it they are near to an Arcanite hero, and they get up to 3 extra attack with their hand weapons for each 9 models in the unit. Even GW o the AoS' Facebooks suggests us to run them on units of 30.

The Tzaangor Skyfires: 16" move, bows with 24" range with 1 attack and +4/+3/-1/D3, the leader get an extra +1 to hit, and the unit gets +1 hits with them if they are close to a Shaman, and on a hit of 6 they deal D3 mortal wounds instantly. SICK.

The Tzaangor Enlightened: elite Tzaangors, with 2 (+ for the leader) attacks with their spears at 2"/+4/+3/-1/2, 3 wounds, 6 move, +5 saves, 6 bravery, also the first unit in AoS that can be actually upgraded, but at no point costs. See: they can go on foot or on discs, on discs they gain the Daemon keyword, +10 movement, one extra wound and gain the disc of Tzeentch attack (D3 attacks, +4/+3+/-1/D3). If they costs exactly the same on either way, why even pick them on foot? There is actually an amazing bonus on that; while it's better to mount them on discs, being able to play them on foot means that you can have 3 spare discs to use on whatever or whoever you want, like other Tzeentch heroes or Thousand Sons units for 40K. They can also make an additional enemy model to flee on failed battleshocks, have +1 hits with their base weapons if they are close to a Shaman and get +1 to hit and wound if any enemy unit at 3" has attacked already on the same turn.

The Tzaangor Shaman: on the same Tzeentchian discs the elite Tzaangor rides and 6 wounds, is extremely important for Tzaangor armies, and surely you will want a good number of them since its presence directly buffs the Tzaangor elites. Once per battle he can cast an additional spell and re-roll one or two dices. Its spell causes D3 damage and for each model slain you can set up a Tzaangor, forming a new unit or adding them to any previous unit at 6".

And finally, this week they also release the Magister; the old good Tzeentch Chaos Sorceror, without any change to his rules. He should've be released last week, maybe an oversight.

And while this is a Fantasy/AoS forum, I just want to shre some of the new 40K stuff, because it is just too good to pass:

This week, Gangs of Commorragh was released, and it has to be one of the best deals GW has pulled in a long, long while; at £35 (the same pirce as Gorechosen and Lost Patrol), this box has an amazing discount of 56% rounded up: the game includes two sets of three Reavers and two sets of 10 Hellions, and the four costs £79 separately; each kit costs basically £8.75. Now add to that the extras; rules, dices, chips, and card scenery: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/21/combat-in-the-dark-city/

And the plot is actually running, for the born of a new Eldar god is here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/22/gathering-storm-ii-first-look/

I like those Eldar a lot, but my favourite is the Yncarne. I bet plenty of Slaanesh players will pick it right away.

And a quick Rumuor Engine, although it seems quite 40K-y, not much else: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/18/rumour-engine-january-18th-2017/

Wow. WOW. This year just started, and started with a bang.

And now, we only have to wait for an updated Seraphon Battletome.

See you around!

:cool::wideyed: :smug:
It is a bit late for Xmas, but I didn't have much funds then. Ummm, what are they retailing those for? When are they available?

The Lizardmen blood bowl team @Cristhian MLR provided in that link to blitzmania was pretty cool. I like the black paint-scheme, not something I have seen quite like this before.

Yes, it's happening.

What's awesome is that this game is a direct answer to the past Season of War results! That is what I call interaction.

This game will take place inside one of the cities founded by Orded during that campaing, and since it has been build THROUGH a Realmgate (spanning across two realms), is an enviable strategic point, so Chaos (this time as a whole, judging by the cover) will try to claim it this time.

Hopefully next iterations will include Death and Destruction forces trying to (and maybe) reclaim some of this cities.

And edit: I asked on Facebook, this game will not replace Silver Tower! I hope to see some compatibility between them.

Looking at the art there, looks like we've got an armored dwarf, a sigmarine, a high elf, and dark elf. The dark elf in particular looks like one of the old ones and not one of the Aelfs. Wonder if that means we will still have separate elf types in AoS. Also, could Nurgle be the focus the same way Tzeetch is in Silver Tower?

Hope that it does, I always liked the three flavors of elves.

I really liked the norse-themed dwarves before, I hope they don't get away from that too much. Steampunk dwarves might be cool if done right, but I am afraid they will wind up looking more like short versions of the stormcast.

I hope the new stuff is good. If not there will be much grumbling...

To me it looks like a Vampire and not a Dark Elf. On top of that, we've got the High Elf Loremaster, an Ironweld Arsenal Cogsmith, and a Stormcast Lord-Castellant with Gryph-hound. Set against are two cultists from the major active non-Skaven Chaos Gods + Chaos Sorcerer.

I hope they include new models as, asides from the Vampire/Dark Elf, they're all existing models.

Eh, but i doubt a Vampire would make a stand side-by-side with Stormcast... ;)
