Because he still uses them as pawns

Life VS the Antithesis of life is a good match up.

Be happy that there are new models. Be slightly peeved that they were not for the faction on the side of the match up that needed it.

yeah i can think of at least 9 armies that DESPRITLY need new books/models. STD was not one of those

because they don't have anywhere else to put him. that and the chaos gods have been enjoying tormenting him for the last few million years by makeing him serve Arty

To be honest Skaven don't really need brand new units as they also have a lot of units, just plastic resculpts of Finecast and older plastic units, as per Beastmen. However they are both more deserving of something at this time than Slaves to Darkness which has all the Warcry warbands as well as all the ex-Fantasy Warriors of Chaos units.

To be honest Cities of Sigmar doesn't need new models, as they have loads, unless you're talking about either an AoS-ified range rather than all the remaining ex-Fantasy Dwarf, Empire, Dark Elf, High Elf and Wood Elf models, or at least replacements for the horrible Empire State Trooper models.

Gloomspite Gitz also have a pretty solid range, just some more Forest Goblin units would be fine to complete the army and that's about it.

Kharadron definitely need some extra units to bulk out their roster, plus as mentioned before Fyreslayers and Idoneth.

i am talking about the free guild. most of them are just so ugly and the fact that you have to paint on the uniform does not help. also primarily book.
aslo new wizard kit. the old one is good but has been out of stock for 18 months now

I can 100% agree with you there, the Empire State Trooper models (originally released in 7th Edition Fantasy) are abominations and look barely human. Funnily enough I believe they were a step back from the previous 6th Edition plastics:

With regards to uniforms, I don't think you'll be able to escape from that for Warhammer humans, no matter what edition the models are from.

Personally I'd rather see GW just wipe the Renaissance German aesthetic for AoS humans (which doesn't even make sense now that they're not even from Warhammer Renaissance Germany) and give AoS Cities of Sigmar the same units back in a different aesthetic, or even rewrite the army list to give them more of an AoS feel. TOW is coming back so GW can simply move the sale of their Empire plastics to the TOW section on their website when they create it, and then players can mix and match if they wish.

yeah all the free guild foot troops(exept great swords) are really bad

Interesting. Curious to see what kind of aesthetic they go for. Chaos Dwarfs have had quite a few completely distinct design styles over the past few decades.

He might well have been in 7th, though in 8th of course he was omitted from the game until the End Times when he decided to show up in a downloadable 'Battlescroll' where he could be used with the Legions of Chaos army build I believe, which included his beloved Daemons.

Strange that the Slaves to Darkness tome would be previewed this early when it's meant for December. That is interesting though, so it could still be Beastmen vs Sylvaneth after all in the upcoming preview...

The two Destruction tomes will almost definitely be Ogres and Gloomspite (unless they have a new faction in the works which is unlikely) and Skaven may well be the Autumn Chaos one, unless they pull something out of the bag for one of the God-specific factions. Order I'm not sure... Kharadron possibly, or Lizardmen for a classic Sotek vs The Horned Rat bash?

For the Slaves to Darkness release I must say that a new plastic Daemon Prince is unnecessary, when the current plastic model is perfectly fine - I remember when it was released, in August 2010 just after 8th Edition Fantasy arrived. A pretty darn good model, this new one is too ugly for my liking, and doesn't fit well with the Daemons of Chaos, given that it is a Daemon after all.

mmm maybe. but beast men did just gat a white dwarf and they don't really fit the teaser discription

But there are no Skaven banners to be seen anywhere - if anything the rumourmongers on TGA are even further away from the truth than I am.

Wasn't Storm of Chaos 6th edition? I think that was where he was first introduced... I could be mistaken though.
