GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

Weren't there people looking forward to grot stuff?

I certainly am! I’m probably the one person in the world who doesn’t give a damn about Slaanesh and is super-excited about Moonclan. I’m still confident GW will release Moonclan in November, and here’s why:

According to TGA, Moonclan were originally confirmed for September, but I reckon it was because so many people on TGA were getting excited about it that GW changed tack and released Beastmen instead. I imagine they monitor such forums extensively. GW evidently doesn’t want to be predictable, and I can see why - it must be pretty annoying to see fans announce a new product when you yourself haven’t even announced it, bursting GW’s bubble as it were. Yes there have been a few leaks for Slaanesh, but there’s been nothing truly major about it - only a small video announcing the set against an illustration and the reveal of one of a new set of models. GW haven’t confirmed the exact contents of the set yet, meaning it’s not coming that soon yet. I’m pretty sure that GW are using these Slaanesh posts to throw fans off the scent of the upcoming Moonclan update, so that while everyone is getting excited about the possibility of Slaanesh in November GW can go “Surprise! It’s Moonclan!”, just as they said “Surprise! It’s Beastmen!” when everyone thought it was going to be Moonclan.

I mean honestly, was there anyone who predicted Beastmen were going to be next before they announced that fiery bull at Warhammer Fest? I imagine not, as most players were getting excited about Moonclan (including me) and the few that weren’t were probably getting excited about Darkoath.

I’m going to consult the Runes of Fortune once again and make this prediction:

October: Orks, Kill Team Commanders (Both confirmed)
November: Necromunda Delaque in the first week, Moonclan afterwards
December: Genestealer Cults, more Kill Team stuff as GW are obsessed with it, possibly some Slaanesh reveals
January: Either Wrath and Rapture with Slaanesh stuff or Darkoath
February: The other of Wrath and Rapture and Darkoath

TBH, i couldn't care less for Slaanesh, but I'm still happy for it.
The reason is variety... chaos lives on Khorne / Tzeentch, and the thing has bored me long time ago.

But moonclan is gorgeous.

I think you overestimate the influence that a few scribblings on an internet forum has on the release schedule of a multi-million dollar company. ;)

It was still practically confirmed that Moonclan would appear in September by reliable GA rumourmongers and everyone was mystified when GW changed their schedule. I still stand by what I said.

Besides, Moonclan deserve to get the love before Slaanesh.

I'll stay with valhallan ice warriors, thanks. :p

There's a post on facebook regarding greenskins with some comments from GW replying rather positive and optimistic to people asking for a greenskin/spiderfang battletome.

I've just remembered! The first truly solid evidence of Beastmen that we had confirming their update was a similar sort of poster to the one above that was released on the Hammerhal Herald - the one telling people to beware of suspicious-looking goats (the bull spell was a bit ambiguous to say the least because half were thinking it was for Chaos Dwarfs and the other half were thinking it was for Beastmen). Perhaps this is confirming Moonclan for November.

I'm feeling pretty confident, especially with the line "Better to join them than get beaten by them."

The way i read it was that the contact with spoiled ground was potentially detrimental to their magic, not to the purity of their souls.
The planet being "contaminated" and it "disrupting their thoughts" sounds pretty much inline with Chaos to me. There are probably other references sprinkled throughout the army books (I remember reading others), but that would take a bit of searching.
