AoS Engine of the Gods

It says in the EOTG rules "At the start of the shooting phase, you can make 1 cosmic engine roll for 1 model with this ability."

It does not say, "An EOTG can make 1 cosmic engine roll."

The "For 1 model with this ability" denotes that only 1 of the models can make that roll.

GW doesn't want someone bringing 5 of these and creating 2 -6 units of saurus every turn.
The command ability can be used multiple times though. Which does give multiple EoTG some potential.

Plus, seeing as we're swimming in command points anyway it doesn't require a very weird build.

The only real problem I see with the build is that the EoTG takes up behemoth & hero slots & you kinda want to keep a slann nearby at least some of the EoTGs for maximum effect. But something like the following should be viable-ish (at least in casual play):

- Thunder lizard subfaction

Heroes:
- Slann
- 3x EoTG
- Scar vet on carno
- Starpriest

Battleline:
- 3x 5 saurus knights
- 5 saurus guard

Endless spells:
- Bound Geminids
- Bound lifeswarm

Battalion:
Firelance templehost

CP: 1
Artifacts: 2
2000 Points exactly.

Pick artifacts and spells and such as you prefer :p

Move the slann, guard as one unit.
Try to keep the slann within 12" of at least 1, but preferably 2 EoTG's
Use Trove of the old one technology as much as possible, with 2.3 CP per turn on average (4 CP max per turn) it should be quite spammable resulting in 2-4 EoTG rolls per turn (and possibly some spare CP for your scar vet or slann)
You have 4 behemoths to murder stuff with, don't be afraid to charge your EoTG's into the fray.
The healing from lifeswarm and the EoTG, alongside scaly skin should help keep you alive
Use geminids and the mortal wound spam from your EoTG's & slann to decimate opponents.
Use the knights to hold objectives and function as speedbumps so you can send your behemoths into favourable engagements.
Use whatever warriors you summon in a similar fashion.

You could potentially drop the firelance battalion and get Kroak instead of a Slann (plus a 100 spare points).

Probably not the best possible list, but it doesn't look terrible either. Also, ironically this might actually be one of our better lists when it comes to summoning. Plus, it definitly looks fun.

I think it is worth it with a slaan, When you tell your opponent it can potentially create 2 units of Saurus a turn they will put a lot of effort into getting it instead of your other threats and it typically if fired twice creates 2 units a game if protected, that makes a 260 point unit into a 180 point unit with a pocket 180 unit.
Or that could make your slann even more of a target?

I don't think 3 would be all that effective, it's alot of points to be putting into that aspect of your army. The one getting 2 is very useful but the others it would be lackluster compared to what that one can do I would maybe go 2, 260 points for an EotG that activates only once isn't too appealing nd I think that's why we won't see them too often out of thunder lizard.
