Have you guys noticed?

GW are putting out "Battlescrolls" for WHFB and "Datasheets" for 40K, 1 each day all through december.

These scrolls contain rules, fluff and info about some kind of unit or character, which is to be treated as an entry in the current army book / codex (I get the feeling of torn out pages that gets found along the way :P)

Link for the page:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?aId=22200010a )

First scroll is "Be'lakor" the first daemon prince, who is a SC that can be used both by WoC and DoC.
People on Warseer predicts that all armies and races will get a supplement of some kind during december (Wishlisting..ENGAGE!)

subjects for speculations:
- Is this their new way of introducing new units, in a much more flexible fashion?
(I sense some danger here though, as if they don't FAQ often it could lead to some heavy inflation/arms race)

- have they kept things out of the latest books for this event?

- What will we get?! personally I pray that we don't get another special character as I only play generic....
I have a feeling that one should look to the newest or "un-ruled" models still in production.

I cross my fingers for a "Battlescroll: Skink High Priest" with palanquin option :D

This could've been awesome if it wasn't because it's a mix of almost everything. I mean WH40, scenarios, new rules.

If it would've been 24 new rules for models and only for Warhammer Fantasy it would've been great.

Anyway isn't Be'lakor just an old special character that wasn't included in the new WoC book? If that's the case I assume we would rather see a new special character than a Skink High Priest.. :(

hadn't thought about it like that...hopefully they continue afterwards, maybe not daily but often.

Yea he is, but with a retouch as far as I can tell.

I see your point...maybe I got too enthusiastic ahead of myself.. still, if Christmas inst time for crossing fingers and wishing I guess ill just pull back into my everyday realistic colours return to look at GW as I usually do.

hadn't even thought about that.

My upmost wish is this:

a "Sacred Spawnings" rule supplement.

Only if they follow up with a special model :p

Source?

I cannot find anything about it on the GW page ?

Topic: I WANT A CANNON! YAYYY :D :D:D D: D: D:

I always wondered why they hadn't done this...
Should be awesome. :smug:

Im feeling the future will/should be digital armybooks and regular patching.

Source is secondhand from Warseer.

This would go pretty well with their "rules comes after we make a cool model" approach ..I could live with this!

Looks like it won't be special characters only. Today's release is a new unit type for Tau in 40k.

Oh gods yes.

/Don't get my hopes up like that!

if this hits the fan I forgive Vertock in everything he has done to the LM Core, yet it seems unrealistic -.-

It's actually not a new unit for Tau. It is a formation, kind of like the Apocolypse battle formations. What is interesting though is that this rule set for the Firebase Support Cadre is for the Christmas Bundle released for the Tau (Riptide + 6 Broadsides). I wondered what anyone would buy that for, now I know. Looks like there are specific rules associated with the formation.

So, I haven't played Storm of Magic, what is the equivalent to formations withing WHFB? That could be something coming down the road.

If the future is digital, GW needs to branch out from iOS to Windows. Until that happens they won't get a dime of my money for digital army books as I don't own an iPad, nor do I plan to ever own one.

Hi Rychek, the digital editions actually come in e-book format as well now. So compatible with Kindle apps and should work on Windows platform as well.

So Far they've shown us 2 things from WH40K and on that can be both <.< I was sort of hoping they would've at least switched from day to day

Thought this sounded interesting, so I headed over to take a look what the battlescolls really was. Only to find out that it is yet another paid product.

Which makes it an interesting concept, since they call it an Advent Calendar, yet still expect people to pay full price for the "pdf" released.

Yet another example on how GW only focus on money. Their website don't even state how many pages the pdf contains, only "Exact layout, page count and formatting will vary based on the eReader used.".

Which makes me wonder how many pages with information I would actually get for the cost. So no thanks, guess Ill stand this one out.

You get 15 pages, of which I suspect about 3 pages will be rules.

Today's release is for Undead. If there are any Lizardmen releases I'll buy them and post a review.
