Great work as always. The carno looks really good... I'm loving the stripes. Nice use of bright colours. The skink priest and oracle are great too.

Thank you.

I was a bit afraid when I got to painting the stripes on the carno, I was hesitant to do them because I did not want to make any mistakes.

I don't know yet if I will be using my Oracle as a Chief or Priest. Priest would probably be the most logical, given that he has a rod, instead of the spear (or maybe it is a javelin).

It's always a bit scary to take a risk and have to possibly go back and fix it. I'm always hesitant as well. It looks like the risk payed off well though!

Just began work on my third Carnosaur, hopefully it will be done in the not so distant future.

Big update with lots of pictures. There is pretty long and far between my updates, but I am a slow painter, so it takes a lot of time to finish the models.

Skink Handlers
Anyway, I got painted 3 Skink Handlers, as of yet they will just be used as normal skinks, as I have not painted the second Salamander I have just yet.

I have not painted gold for a long time, because I was getting tired of all the gold. So I started trying to paint obsidian. I liked the new look, but it too became too much, with too many different colors. Now I think I have found a balance between gold and obsidian (for the time being anyway), plus I only make the obsidian in two colors now.
None of my newly painted models have got any basing, as I ran out of glue when I made the base on my last Carnosaur, which is why it did not have any bushes on the base.

Kroxigor
I have now painted half of my Kroxigors. I haven't used them yet, but I like the idea of them a lot, so even though they might not be the best option, they will see some use, also because it would feel a bit like a waste of time not to use them now that I have painted them.

I really had some problems with them though, they where horrible to glue together because the pieces just didn't fit at all. One arm wasn't long enough to reach out to the hand on the weapon :banghead:.

Another Gor-Rok
I got him last christmas, so I figured i'd better finish him, but I decided to not make him albino and just use him as a normal chracter, but with an opposite shield than my last Gor-Rok.

I hope he will be usefull in 9th age, so I can use him, if not I'll just use him as an Oldblood.
He is really detailed and in some aspects a nightmare to paint, as I more than once forgot some part of him and had to come back to it later.

Now, to a model that has actually been finished for some time, but I couldn't really show him as that might give away who made the short story "Reborn". The model is of course Rex on Indominus (Or Kroq-Gar).

With the name, I think it is easy to guess where the inspiration came from, and why he is white.

I tried layering in the Carnosaur's mouth to make it look like the mouth doesn't just stop.
I don't know if it is visible on the pictures, but I wanted to do something extra so I made orange on all edges on Rex's (Kroq-Gar's) scales.

I took some time, and I hope it shows.

Why is it that models often look better in real life?

Awesome job @ASSASSIN_NR_1 ! I especially like the Kroxigors, they look really great. The obsidian effect you created looks really good, especially on Gor-Rok's shield. It really ties the army together.

Many thanks NIGHTBRINGER, it's good get some praise for one's work, as I am often rather sceptical of myself regarding my own painting.

I think I have fallen a bit in love with the blue and red obsidian, I think it ties in nicely with the blue skin and red scales my army has.

As are we all. You're definitely not alone in feeling.

I most definitely does. Your army is coming along very nicely.

Nice work, you seem to be improving with every model you paint, I do think with the Carny being such a large model it could do with an offset colour, maybe cream underbelly, just my personal outlook.

But great work and I think you deserve a :spiderman:

What I looked at when I painted it was an albino alligator

You might be right though, that a bit of contrast might have done something for the model.

But great work and I think you deserve a :spiderman:

Yahoo, I got a Spiderman :p

you seem to be improving with every model you paint

Thanks, that is really great to hear from someone else that I am progressing.

Carnie looks about right,
Should look better when you add some basing.
(more contrast) ;)

Ps. the armor details are great.

That might do it, it looks great but it also looks a little flat, I've looked and looked but could not pin down why but I know now what it is.

The straps can you give them a bit more of a shade, teeth a shade darker at the gum and claws lighter grey at the tips.

Minor details and you may feel it's not needed and it could totally just be the picture not picking out the detail.

But it is a massive increase of skill on your part, well done again.

You could do a super thin wash of a darkish blue on his belly,
to emphasize that it's in shadow without ruining the white.

So, after painting on another set of Cold one cav on and off for something like 2 years, they are finally done

Thanks, it does take some time to make, but I think it's worth it.
