AoS Age of Sigmar Rumours - Mk II. (Our new name)

I am getting more and more ....open...to the game, as I am seeing skilled players discuss the way its probably gonna work out.

also, this picture!!!
"ophidian" is a term for "serpents" as well.

I NEED TO KNOW IF THIS S _ _ _ HOLDS UP!

Fun thing though! me educating myself on the subject let me to discover a different take on the word "Seraph".
Apparently it can also mean "serpent" or rather "fiery serpent".

Fiery serpent....

I am going to yell it ONE MORE TIME

COATL

I've been thinking about this myself.

One sure way that GW could nail down the LM community in AoS would be, when the new Seraphon are released, to introduce with it a Coatl, sorry, I mean Koeurtal.

I wonder how Mantic games will take this as they have a realm called Ophidia in Kings Of War?

But.. So far there is no indication that there'll be anything more. What if this is it? As veterans we're obsessed with the idea of this game being targeted to us. What if it isn't? Would new players care about the things we care about?

What if GW simply just want to create a game that doesn't require a lot of learning and is dumb quick fun?

We're all assuming some sort of balance will be in place because derp tournaments, but who's to say GW even care about that?

Skilled players are discussing what exactly..? Either they're discussing a platform that can eventually be transformed into a competitive game with a lot of effort from the community or they're naive and hoping there'll be a full set of rules.

If it's the first then why not just continue with the old game and alter it if needed? I'm really curious because so far I see no indication that AoS as is doesn't need s fvckton of work from the community.

New art plus Sigmarite "chapters". Can anyone tell what behemoth is about to be smote in the first image? Doesn't look like a Bloodthirster...something new?

@Pinktaco

If AoS is all we have seen then it is an incomplete game, as no terrain or other things mentioned havent been covered.
Even for new players that dont hold up.
It might not be A LOT more, but we dont know how this actually work on the board.
Me and a friend is trying it out on Sunday.

@Slanputin

I dont think its a bloodthirster.
Its far too "earth elemental" like. Looks like something from shadow of the colossus.

Might be a god or some kind of warp-dweller we haven't heard about.

I'm pretty sure the image is actually Sigmar and Dracothion, the Celestial Dragon that found Sigmar after the End Times. The passage next to it in WD briefly talks about their friendship.

Also, the happiest Blood Warrior that ever was!

"Wahey!"

Makes sense!
Even though the name Dracothion makes me cringe :P

Well said! AoS is a completely different game from Warhammer. It might turn out to be a very fun game, but it is most definitely not the deep tactical experience that we are accustomed with Warhammer. Maybe that is the direction that GW has decided to run with from here on out or maybe there is a true 9th edition on the horizon. But I think people need to fully accept that AoS is not the natural extension of 8th edition, and no amount of "missing information" will change that.

Me and a friend is trying it out on Sunday.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the game.

How far off was my guesstimation?
siggyknigget4-png.16926

Did it come with a 32mm base or a 40mm terminator base?

And where is the horse hair top knot?

I looked at that. The final page had a web address for Compendiums for all the other models, but it was a dead link: http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/age-of-sgmar-compendiums ...if I did not type it wrong maybe it will work on the 11th?

As much as I have been worried about this, to be honest I'm probably going to pick up the box set. If it is a small skirmish game - well I loved Mordheim, albeit this is a little different, less D&D like.. but yeah. I will give it a shot, and hey, worst case we still have 8th edition :)

Could the different terrains be in the 96 page book? On the first page under BATTLEFIELD it bangs on about picking one of seven realms... Then roll for the number of articles in each 4 square feet... Then assign one of six rules to each piece.

Are those models of the Saurus and Skink, Soraphon that beamed into those pictures randomly for size comparison hehehe
