AoS Age of Sigmar Rumours - Mk II. (Our new name)

Hopeful news.

No starter box usually contains points, not sure what to think of their exclusion from the rules seen however.

How it looks like, it might very well be the truth. WIth the current rules, it is inherently completely unblanced, way worse then before. You can't even play a balanced game if you want to, because you don't know points! It's all just completely bizarre.

Not if GW intends for new players to play campaigns with fixed amount of models. :)

Never use that page for anything but rumour roundups, and only if it links to its source.

It isn't that bizarre. It is old school mode. :lurking:

Once upon a time, in the days of Grenadier and RalPartha figure casting companies just made figures. And that is all they did. Gamers sometimes wrote their own rules. Or adapted, expanded or combined existing rules.

They built scenarios. They created re-fights based on literature. They 'balanced' things by having different victory conditions for each side if one side had the short end of it. But the one thing they DID NOT DO was go begging the casting company for FAQs, and RULINGS, and INTERPRETATIONS as if some company on the other side of an ocean was the LAW and the ARBITER of all the THINGS.

I think they just count on that if people wont have to add "army book" to their "I want a new army!" purchase, more people will tend to want that.

Now that the age of the internet has made it easy to "borrow" those army books its most certainly not a bad idea!
Meaning: I dont think we will see far too many campaign books, unless they are tied to a model release.

I agree. Besides, I always liked the idea of campaign books (like Lustria and Storm Of Chaos) that eventually had elements of those books included into the core gameplay.

Of course they would be tied to model releases ;)

On the leaked books everyone can read you can see that there is already a scenario where you ''bring whatever you want'', so that bodes ill. I also do not see not having point values as ''going back to them old days'', i see it as GW lazyness, another thing that gamers will have to pick up their slacks on..

Also, anybody else staying up to see our new rules? Already 12 AM here, just another hour for it to be that time in the UK. Wondering if they will go online at midnight or later..

Alright so I checked out new war scrolls. It actually looks like they somewhat nailed the essence of our army. Our slann can apparently summon every unit we have haha. I'm not too sure on the efficiency of Oldbloods yes. Kroxigors can do a sweeping strike and bit the head off an opponent. Also saurus warriors have 1 good attack and then a bite attack. Guards have 2 good attacks and s bite attacks. Skinks can withdraw from close combat and not be hot. I didn't quite check for poison. CoRs have 2 wounds, but inferior save compared to regular saurus. Oh and they got a Lance!

No sight of magic items, you just choose weapon on character I believe.
