9th Age 9th Age (beta) out now - check link in first post

sitting here reading it....I realize something.

Before there was a spell in Light that was named "Battle Tactics, now its named "Flash of Resolve".

I wrote this on the Vampire Counts forum:

"Lore of Light:
2: Battle Tactics
This is not magic the gathering :tongue: what wizard would name a spell that? :D
Call it "Bastet's Flash of Resolve" or something of the sort "

Changes i have noticed.

Lore of Metal (alchemy) attribute doesnt stack beyond +3 armor save and cant be used on the same unit several times.
Lore of Death attribute is now just -1 LD instead of damage, this cannot be stacked (temporary effect).
Lore of Fire 6th spell is now +1 T 5+ wardsave and 2+ ward against flaming augument spell.
Lore of Heavens attribute can now only reroll a to hit roll, to wound, or an armor save on their turn. Not really sure how this works, i guess you can reroll one dice during the entire turn? It should stack but idk.
Lore of Heavens windblast is now better. Cannot march/use flying move, and when they roll to charge/flee/pursue the player must roll 3 dice and remove the highest one (like cold-blooded except negative).
Lore of Light attribute gives holy attacks and 1+ LD, doesnt stack.
Lore of shadows attribute gives a 10 flying move instead of 12 (focused).
Pit of shades cause multiple wounds D3+2 no armor or reg saves allowed.
Mindrazor gives armor piercing (1) and automatic wounds.
Same usual attribute on lore of high magic (now Path of Valour).
Tempest from highmagic is now called "Shield of the White Tower", gives a 6+ wardsave which can stack with other wards to a max of 3+ augument (not focused).

The Aspect of Manticore for the Monstrous Transformation spell under the Path of Beasts grants heroic killing blow... but I couldn't find reference to heroic killing blow in the 9th age rules.

Apperantly it's a mistake, suppose to be killing blow (10), which basically is the new heroic killing blow ;)

I wouldn't say it is useless at all. It's still a very useful effect (as our own poisoned attacks can attest to), it just isn't game breaking anymore. I think it is a pretty good change.

Couldn't they have just changed it from LD boosting strength to boosting weapon skill or something like that?

Massed low-s attacks benefit greatly.
Saurus horde against big targets is still in danger.

As Nightbringer says: use it as you would use poison.
 
I don't know if anyone has asked this yet, but does 9th Age have an AB for Sigmar marines? I know absolutely nothing about 9th Age. Not sure if it's like a fan made 9th edition for "old school" players or like a whole new all inclusive game using GW models to replace AoS.

Personally I think that would be far weaker than auto-wounding and armour piercing(1). Cast on a unit with a good WS this spell is deadly, especially if the opposition has a poor - average armour save.

I wasn't at my computer last night so I didn't update the thread last night D: anyway they're out now. I'm going to go ahead and guess that the ABs will be out to night as well. Around 8pm CET or so.
 
It's interesting they implemented the ward save spell from Furion's rules in the high magic lore. Maybe they talked with him.

Anyway high magic is now very much based on augments and spells that doesn't wound. Attribute grants a protective counter and tempest replaced with that ward spell otherwise it's the same.
 
the combined profile says nothing about what armor save or ward, regeneration save to use?
 
Just like with normal characters?

There has been talk about AoS models being implemented into 9th, but that might take a while.
