Blog Sleepy corner

I got Chalazion on my left eye. I am really pissed about it, because it puts pressure on my eye and my vision is quite blurry. Doctor measured it, and right now I need 1 dioptry for my left eye to correct vision, but there is nothing to do about it, as it should correct itself after chalazion gets better. Anyways, for last couple of days, my painting of details was basically:

step 1: put paint in brush
step 2: try to focus and roughly point it to area
step 3: pray and push to touch model
step 4: either sigh in relief, or start cussing

Anyways, since I had this one already preshaded and commander was painted on the stick, I decided to do something missing smaller details.

Second Ailthean Tractor for Crusaders, this time with magnetised main gun:

Cool pattern on the tank. I love these guys!

Eye was a bit better yesterday, so I managed to get done these little ones.
Glad you are getting better, hopefully it won't take too long to get back to one hundred precent.

Thank you. I just returned from doctors appointment (finally) and bad news is that they'll have to cut it out from eyelid, so I'll have eyepatch for couple of days and be a little grumpy from pain. Also doctor told me that they have to arrange surgery room time window, so it might take a while, up to next year.

"Good news" is that it shouldn't have no influence on my sight, so I should just get glasses for reading and painting. :D

Though news man. Hope the procedure will have the aimed result. Good luck (also with waiting)

I will, they´ll basically just cut and scrape solidified pimple on the inside of eyelid. I had the same thing on the other eye couple of years back. I am just glad that I can get glasses immediately and don´t have to wait till it is done.

I already thought about at least gluing more models, but the idea of cleaning moldlines with x-acto is unsettling. :D

Oh it will. I looked on some of my models through them and was instantly stunned by how sharp everything is. :D

No flashlight attachment for painting in sub-optimal lighting? :p
I always paint in sub-optimal lighting. :D
...now come to think of it, that might be the reason I need glasses. :D
But I tried those magnifiers with light attached, couple of months ago in modellers club and thought details were worse. It might have been multiplying the bad eyesight, I have to try them again to see the difference.

Modelers club today. I was able to basecoat dark grey about 50% of what will be metal, silver and gold. Right after I finished, I noticed everything is tacky. I used club paint and it probably went stale. I'll leave it for another month and then airbrush matt varnish over it.

Kiddo's preschool will have costume party. We are getting ready and his costume already arrived. Toothless onesie from "How to train your dragon" it is only missing wings, but by the power of technology and simple tools, I have commited myself to help. :D

I now only have to go get screws from hardware shop and better half has to start sewing machine to put some fabric on those wings. :)

Well. Due to so heath issues, better half could not get to sewing machine, so I made a compromise and wings are now covered in PVA soaked paper towels and membranes are made from PVA soaked dried out "wet towels". Tomorrow is Bolt masking & paint time and also deadline, since kiddo needs them for friday.

And this morning, after kiddo went to preschool, I went to forest to prepare his gnome hunt with treasure map I made couple weeks ago. 4 task stations with various forest oriented quests and treasure chest at the end.

Thank you, we just returned. Kiddo practiced navigation skills, had to name 10 forest animals, we picked up trash at old campsite to garbage bag I put there, searched for acorns for squirells and we made gnome house from fallen branches and leaves. Treasure was small chest full of plastic diamonds, pirate coins and chocolate coins as well.
It took little under 2 hours. About the same time it took me to prepare it this morning.

That sounds like a lot of fun and a happy kid :)

He is :)
But after couple of days with older nephews, he now knows how to talk back in fully fluent in whole sentences. It is good preparation for puberty, I think I'll need therapist when it happens. :D
