Blog Paint & Kitbashes (2023) with Suds

So, I'm debating a battleline unit for the Adherents of Haset, a more generic battleline used by all the *War Folds*.

The idea so far all stems from Haset embuing a blessing on those mortals who join her cause that agree to it, the blessing bringing them closer to nature.

1. Some are given shapeshifting abilities, able to shift into different animals (though are given a primary form). Main thought was wolves or werewolves for lack of a better word.

2. others simply grow hooves, horns, and shaggy fur and take on more of a Hathorian form (Fauns essentially, similar to Gors i guess). So, like Beastmen the idea of a smaller front line half mortal/half animal

3. Aelves (probably Lumineth Pikes)

4. Raptor/Eagle Warriors, but in groups of 5 vs 10

Trying to think of things that are semi highland/upland related, any thoughts before i go down this path?

I am also tempted to add Frost Phoenix to the line up, but id need to think on that and make sure it makes sense lorewise to me
Decided choice 1 as Battleline option 2 for the Adherents, with Pikemen being option 1. May come up with 1 more battleline unit, any thoughts?

5 of 10 Shifters/Werewolves
Need to find the last 2 of the second 5 lol not sure where i put them20231105_173936.jpg

I think for a 4th and final hero type I'm going to do a Shifter/Druid type, whether they're in an animal form or not I'm undecided.

That'll be Priestess, Warchief, Hunter, Shifter/Druid as hero types

And how did the exam go?

Grrr, !mrahil
......

Without getting deep into it or getting mad again...i was on the third question and my exam somehow auto submitted on me, I have no idea how. So, I am now waiting on my professor to email me back so I can hopefully get a new exam to take. Otherwise... 3 out of 50? Just, yeah.

I got a new background for my light box, and it is working wonders! With no glare I feel my miniatures are finally getting the photography they deserve. Showing so much more color than before!

Almost done with this side of this beastie, then onto the next sections! Expect some updated photos of miniatures to start streaming in :) 20231107_154150.jpg 20231107_154255.jpg

Very nice! The colours definitely pop!

What material did you use for the lightbox background?
Thanks man!

I got some Photography Velvet off Amazon, i got a big spread lol cut this to size for my lightbox. When i get a bigger box I'll have enough to cut another section

Some Oldies but goodies :)

I painted all of these 2-3.5 years ago, the Fyreslayer being the most recent and the female Troglodon (headcanon) being the oldest. I wanted to dee how the green hair looked on my Fyreslayer because I'm debating between green or Purple/violet for hair for the rest of them, and I'm thinking I may stick with the green after originally thinking I was going to go away from it.

I am considering putting an oracle on each of these with a small troupe of skinks (like shown) since i have many left over Terradon skinks. I originally found it off putting that the Oracle was so much bigger than the other skinks, but then was reminded that more Alpha like Skinks may/would possibly be bigger than other skinks, so it checks out. What do you think?20231113_212215.jpg

Gonna end there tonight, about... 2.5 or 3 hours of active paint time? Pretty happy with the result so far, but unsure of the red scaled loin cloth...so will sleep on it

Still trying to get the photography down20231114_233934.jpg 20231114_233857.jpg 20231114_233801.jpg

Some progress on this handsome fellow! More detail work as I pick out areas and the runes upon his skin. Working also on his axe a bit, and I repainted his loin cloth from Red to the current green(s). All in all, really Happy with it so far!

Also have begun a test hair for the more battleline/common troops

Hey everyone! I am really excited to share with you both my finished Runefather but also my first short story for the #SlidecrownIsle Narrative campaign from White Dwarf! Both have been a lot of fun to work on so hope you enjoy!

The story surrounds my Runefather Vidar-Grimnir and what is not only a tale of exploration, exploits, and battle but also a story of a dude looking for a new companion after his Magmadroth has been slain. Going to Slidecrown Isle the Runefather hopes to uncover an ancient flame which is said to have landed deep within the isle and holds a possible unknown spawn of the Ur-Salamander.

From the painting side, Vidar-Grimnir was a lot of fun to paint. Using greens I wanted to capture the Realm of Life and how that would change my Fyreslayers. I also added two main things to give him a little personality, a pipe and some throwing axes on his back. I went for a natural look with stone for the helm and shoulder guards, and then painting a little gold into the design.

He looks mighty fine!

Note to self to read the story when time presents itself ;)

Some retakes of a project from long ago, I believe my first major kitbash, I did remove the Seraphon icons and put the Fyreslayer shields there for the moment

Id like to revisist this idea, refesh it and reinvision it a little bit for my Fyreslayers. As of now this kitbash is representative of no faction, but rather a Ghyranian Large Fauna piece.

It's a piece i like but see so many things that could have been done so much better, but that's part of growth :)
