Amazing!!! That is such an impressive model and paintjob. I love the contrast of colors between the base and the bird. The green and yellow elevate the purple and blue even more. I am impressed by the light blues on the feathers, really selling that the lightning is coursing through the wings

Thank you man, so much! Very glad you like it, and I am especially glad the light blue in the feathers is showing what i want it to! Really appreciate your words - I think I did really well qith tue contrast here, better than any piece.

Excited to show the finished model in the next post, I just wish the pictures did her justice. Ill be retaking them at some point.

So! Finally I uave completed Aella, Wind Spirit of Storms I have to say, this is probably the fastest I have ever done a model of this size and detail before. I believe in all it was about 18 hours over 6ish days, around 3 or 4 hours a session. I personally feel my best paint job to-date.

I really wanted to "capture the storm" with this piece, referencing a lot of personal storm pictures I've taken, along with some online images. Where I live I have seen both Purple and green skies, like - deep purple and green - so I wanted to capture that but felt purple more fitting for what I was going for.

The wings and face just feel really good to me, I am glad I went back to re-highlight certain feathers. The nright highlight blue next to the faded blue highlights really give that coursing lightning through the wings (and tail feathers!) I was hoping to convey.

The lightning could be pushed more, but for now I love how it looks with the rest of the model - It just looks super natural to me how it comes off the wings and out of the mouth.

The cyclone really helps "ground" the model some with its more neutral colors of greys and blue greys, but then has a pop of red-orange to draw from the blues in Aella. The rest of the base I just love the movement and colors that contrast with everything else.

I just really love this model, though I wish the pictures did it justice - Ill have to try and grt better ones eventually. The bottom of the wings especially just didn't come out great

C&C welcome!

It looks absolutely incredible! The wings are a real highlight, the transition of the colors is so beautiful. The color scheme is on point too, I love seeing purple associated with lightning/storms.
Another cool touch is the flowers getting sucked into the cyclone!! There's so much thoughtful detail. I'd be terrified to face up against this in battle. Awesome work!

Took some better pictures of the underside of the wings since the others didn't do em justice.

Also some more photos showing the base a bit better

Thank you so much! I love the transition too, I'm super happy it came out so well, took a lot of time lol I really wanted purple in there, I witnessed deep purple skies last year, just so cool and haunting! So had to include it. And yes! I love the flowers, they offer such movement to the piece with the cycle, thank you!

And me too, absolutely terrified - I am glad that reaction gets pulled out, definitely partly what I was going for - we all get scared of storms, imagine a literal manifestation of storms - oof.

Thank you man, truly. So proud of this piece, my absolute favorite to date. And one of my most simple in terms of bits.

Go get GW to post it on their site again!
Ha, I hope! Lol that would be amazing. Would be my 4th time if it did, would just be particularly awesome for this piece I think.

Just so proud of it and that would be the ultimate cherry, but, doubt it - such better painters out there doing amazing stuff

Been painting some - but not enough to share. Been busy with school. Decided to build something, and this is what came out.

Wind Spirit #2? Hathorian Archer of sorts? Just a fun/weird/silly model? We'll see lol needs greenstuff stuff still around the head. If i choose Hathorian path I'll try to give them hooves more than likely
