GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

Seriously? I would have thought we've had enough 'painting revelations' from GW now what with the continual expansions they've made to their main paint range and then with Contrast. Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't replace the current range because that is perfectly fine and if it isn't broken, don't try and 'fix' it.

Who else thinks they should have spent however much time they have wasted on this nonsense on speeding up development of The Old World?

Yea, more the old world news would have been more ideal.

Maybe GW has teamed up with Behr to give up primer and paint, all-in-one. :P

While this is cool, many of the colors look like such subtle variations on the contrast they already have. I guess they're just trying to narrow the color mixing that you might do with contrasts? Still, the brighter purples, yellows and orange look like nice additions. Plus, if the white spray is as smooth as advertised that will be good as well.

They are probably also capitalizing on the failures of contrast. Where some are extremely pigmented and others look and act like a heavy wash.

It's also an excuse to sell people up to 32 x $9 paint pots.

I see about 15 paints from that I would use, and only about half that semi-regularly.

They can take their $17 cans of primer (other than retributor armor which I actually see uses for) and shove them into the great maw.

They should have just done dropper bottles. That would have made a bigger splash.

Don't you mean less of a splash? ;)
*bump*
Aww, there goes another pot of Agrax!

Gods I only had this happen a few weeks ago, made all the worse by the fact I'd bought the pot only a couple of weeks or so before

Fortunately I managed to salvage about half the pot but it does mean I'll have to head back to get another one much sooner than expected.

A couple of the new washes are a bit pointless - Tyran Blue just looks like a slightly brighter Drakenhof Nightshade, and Targor Rageshade is just a slight variance on Agrax Earthshade - but some of the other colours do fill in niches that hadn't been covered before, particularly the white/grey one.

That Magmadroth Flame looks particularly fun for a future Fyreslayer army, and I've noticed they've pinched another couple of names from the original Citadel paint line for a couple of other Contrast paints - Asurmen Blue and Baal Red, the names of the blue and red washes originally. I do like that because it conjures up more memories of a time gone by when Warhammer was more affordable and the games were more about strategy and less about following one specific meta dictated by the new GW.

All I can say about the 'new' spray is:

All in all, possibly one or two things of use, but my original attitude to this was correct, the time would have been far better spent on developing TOW.

New leaks from Reddit.

Multi-part warriors (top row) look like a decent kit.

Chaos legionaries look likely to be a warcry warband instead of a troop type, judging by placement.

Which means they will probably be utterly irrelevant in age of Sigmar.

I would have thought that the updated Warriors kit leaked there is just the kit currently in the Start Collecting box, released to replace the Warhammer Fantasy one, which, like the new set of Skeletons they released for Vampires, I think is rather unnecessary given the current kit is fine.

Anyway who cares about Warriors of Chaos at the moment? They're not going to be released until December so we might as well think about which are the factions that are going to be updated in the Autumn, and if they'll get anything more than a single unnamed hero model. Lumineth are believed to be the Order faction (yawn) but hopefully they'll just get a single hero model as that's all they deserve. I hope the Chaos faction is Beastmen of course!
