Really great work!

The wash made it look a bit to glossy for pictures. I might look for the test drawing

The glossiness was the first thing I noticed too... maybe a matte varnish would bring down the shine? Right now the gloss almost takes away from the excellent painting you did on that banner :(:artist::artist::artist::artist:

Thank you!!
I have a matt varnish spray, but haven't used it before... so will have to test it first...

I picked up a bottle of AK Interactive Ultra Matte recently, it's fantastic. You can paint it on with regular brushes or use an airbrush depending on the situation

Thank you, I will take a look at that

I use this and I have been pleased with the results...

It takes away all the shine. On metals I use Vallejo Satin Varnish.

Last Wednesday I received the mail that my order was delivered at the office(more likely to be someone around during the day than at home), but since last Tuesday we in the Netherlands are back in to a hard(er) lockdown...
So won't be able to collect the package until mid January :shifty::(

Well... today I was able to work at the office for the first time in 2021.
So I take home my delivery:

As promised some better pictures of the banner bearer:

Great job on the freehanded banner design!! You must have a steady hand.

And yeah as others have said, matte varnish is your friend to remove glossy effects, can vouch for the Vallejo stuff but I've also heard very good things about the ultra-matte varnish by AK.

I coat all of my models in a satin varnish when I'm done, it's still somewhat shiny but not too bad. Previously I used Vallejo brush on satin varnish but now I use AK spray on satin varnish which saves a ton of time. Just have to wait for the right weather conditions...

This video was handy when figuring out how to use brush-on varnish correctly:

Thank you, I'll have to crack out my spray can and just try it (first on some sort of tester model ;))

I found some time today to get work done on the Rivendell Knight (that was sitting half way done)

Things to do:
- add the wash to the rider
- paint gem on the shield
- paint the base
- add grass

Will just not make it for the end of this month

And now he is done :):)

I decided to keep the mount and rider separate for easy painting, but still doubt if I'll keep them that way. It wiuld come in handy if a scenario demands horses without rider ;)

I really like the color scheme of the blue and orange. Great job on the gem as well!
