I HAVE THE POWER!!! (in terms of forum milestones)

And lo, for the day came when he of great repute ascended to Slannhood. And he-who-is-known-for-great-work looked down upon the other lizards and said: "Be at peace my brothers, for I have ascended; and in the ascension shall cleanse and save you all."

And the Lizards cried out in happiness and rapture and the boldest of them asked "But how shall we call you great one?"

And thus the Slann did speaketh again, "A name is not needed," he repeated, "for I am all of you and none of you."

"Well," replied the boldest, "then we shall know you as Lizards of Renown." and the Slann did concede.

Slannhood! :D

For me, finding Lustria Online was a real blessing. I've got a very busy schedule and being able to have a battle (8th Edition naturally) is few and far between. I found pretty early on that the forum wasn't like any other's I'd tried and that it was friendly and welcoming. So I decided to invest.

I'm not the best story-writer or meme-finder. I'm not the best painter and I'm not the most versed in Warhammer lore (or Star Wars for that matter! Sorry guys!) There are a lot of things that I'm not. And I don't claim to be.

However, I am a major fan of the 8th. I have a good sense of humor, a fair writer's viewpoint and am into helping others. So this is what I brought to the forum in exchange for what it gave to me.

I've entered every short story and poetry contest that's happened since I started. I even won once in both which was pretty cool. But I enjoy more having some appreciation for my fledgling writing and I like being able to encourage others in their writing. I've welcomed every new member that's posted an introduction. I remember what that was like for me and what an instant impression it gave for the whole site when I was warmly welcomed so I'm trying to do this for others. I painstakingly made my way through the ENTIRE just for laughs, dogs and cats and random randomness threads. Issuing likebombs left and right. Then took every meme I had stored and shared them myself. I got in the groove of providing regular laughs and enjoyed getting good feedback. I spent time going through the painting blogs giving due appreciation (there is some real talent burgeoning there).

Based on this, I did a submission to The Red Devil (long may he ribbet!) and asked for a new title. Everything considered, I felt it appropriate.

Now, when it came to my 5000th post, I thought I'd do some in honor of the site. Thankfully, I have a couple of friends with mad skills on drawing so I sketched out exactly what I wanted and then they've been helping me to put the idea into reality (which is what has taken so long, as I've been working this over with them until I felt like they were good enough to post, it has been very frustrating!)

Voila!

Best, LoR
I for one am very glad you found the forum, you have been nothing but a delight since we met. There are times I'll open LO and there will be literally 42+ messages from you simply liking my blog posts, and everytime a huge smile busts forth, thank you for that; the power of a like is definitely strong, even stronger from a friend.

I really love the depiction of the RP group, makes me miss Tarkaz a bit and his Waterbuffalo minotaur shenanigans. Great work on that!

I have also enjoyed your writing pieces, definitely keep it up! I should enter more contests, as I've only have entered 1, maybe one day.

Congrats on the new title!

Many congratulations to you my friend. Your contributions to Lustria Online are always of the highest quality. In a forum of many great members you stand among the echelon of the very greatest.

The fact that such a "relatively" new member (by some of our standards :p) has been able to carve out such a grand legacy on the forum speaks volumes in regards to your value to this community.

The Star Chambers reverberated with the emergence of a new Spawning, and as it did so, all of the Pantheon of the Slann prepared to welcome their new brother.

The Relic Priests n810, the First Slann, Bowser, the Koopa Slann, and Crowsfoot, the Painting Slann, began proceedings by illuminating the chamber with sorcerous fires that burned in their very palms without ever scorching their mummified bones.

The Nightbringer, the Sith Slann, followed by raising his scarlet Lightsaber aloft and chanting prayers from the time of Darth Bane in the darkest of tongues.

Aginor, the Sigmarite Slann, thought lost in deep meditation, briefly awoke from his trance to behold the new arrival, and showered him in colourful stars.

Lord-Marcus, the Hip Slann, telekinetically switched on a dusty ghetto blaster and began to sway and boogie to the varied tunes of the 1960s.

Killer Angel, the Nehekharan Slann, brought forth gifts forged at the behest of the Kings of the Tombs to give to the new Slann.

Canas, the Rumour Slann, paused in his eternal debating and divined grand portents for the future of the Lizardmen with this Spawning.

Warden, the Samurai Slann, bowed in solemn respect and presented the arrival with a suit of armour befitting a Shogun.

And Lord Agragax, the Celtic Slann, and the last to emerge before the Twelfth, did pen a tale accounting the Spawning, for he was gifted in the Bardic arts of the Britons and wished to record this great event in writing for all eternity.

And so a dozen Slann now sat in a perfect circle, their minds attuned perfectly to the jungles of Lustria.

Yet these welcomes paled in comparison to the blessings of the Red Devil. For the Old One peered down from the cosmos and boomed, “No mere Slann shall you be, for I dub thee the Herald of Creation, the Slann of Many Talents, the Great Like-bomber. None shall challenge your status, and none shall doubt your jollity or your camaraderie!”

And so it is written, so shall it be.

Congrats my friend!

Well, it may have taken huge amounts of time and some of your sanity to complete your celebratory post, but it was worth it! Those artworks are most impressive!

As is only right, the first two Knights have their heraldry depicting the armies that they play. Anyone who pledges themselves to the 8th Edition and forsakes the AoS, will be welcomed to the table ;)

And lastly, I have a new forum ID picture

Thanks to everyone who makes this a great place to hang out and for keeping the hobby alive. Thanks to everyone who has answered my dumb questions, liked my memes and for encouraging me in my painting.

And now, I can finally get back to voluminous postings!!!

Best, LoR

Awesome.. Glad you finally made it to Slannhood, something you no doubt deserve. Those artworks are damn cool, Honestly couldn't have drawn Ohmen better myself. Congrats.

And the new Slann spake unto them "A name is not needed, for you shall know my good works."

And verily they would and the rejoicing continued. But the boldest of them all spoke again "But surely we should discern your work from the rest, Great One? So that the due praise may be given?"

And thus the Slann did speaketh again, "A name is not needed," he repeated, "for I am all of you and none of you."

"Well," replied the boldest, "then we shall know you as Lizards of Renown." and the Slann did concede.

And on this day there was much cele‎bration and laughter and revelry and the Lizards did go forth in joy for the prophecy had been fulfilled and-‎

Wait, isn't this the guy who didn't paint his own armies?

Well... Yes... But he HAS started painting now...

And what good works? Does he win the story contest all the time or something?

Well... He won it once... and the poetry contest once as well actually! But... yes, others have won much more often...

Right... the story seems to make him out as a real Big Dog, does he come up with the best memes or something?

... No... That's General Memebringer...

Has he created his own fantasy world?

... well, no... That's Scalenex and Lord Agragax...

Or are his painted models promoted by Games Workshop on their official website?

Well.... no.... That's Sudsinabucket... Um... WELL, THIS IS JUST HOW THE STORY GOES, OKAY!!!!! DO YOU WANT TO HEAR IT OR NOT?!?!?!?

[Sigh] Yes, go on then.

Ahem, right where was I...

;)

(For the record, I chose Lizards of Renown based on the old Regiments of Renown models as I think they're still pretty cool)

Slannhood!

Voila!

You'll note a nod to The Red Devil (long may he ribbet) without whom the site wouldn't be here, Scalenex for the short story contests and then some key others who I've interacted with and befriended on the site.

Of note is my fellow Knight of Eight, Nightbringer, and fellow Tomb King, Killer Angel.

Then:

Second voila!

As part of exploring LO, I found an RPG thread and was warmly welcomed into the party. While it is still going, I had some great times and the story telling of Erta Wanderer and Tk'Ya'Pk has been fantastic. Thanks a lot guys. @Nazqua, @Lizerd, @Erta Wanderer, @Tk'ya'pyk, @Sudsinabucket, @DeathBringer125, @TheCrazyKhorneGuy I hope you like the depiction of your characters.

And, to my fellow Knight of Eight, NIGHTBRINGER, I present: the Eternity Table of the Eighth!

Curious... who has the most wins? Is it @Scalenex ?

No, @Y'ttar Scaletail and @thedarkfourth have me beat, they both have four against my three (and many authors have three).

If we give partial credit for ties, Y'ttar wins because he won four times outright and thedarkfourth would have a modified 2 and 5/6 wins and I would have 2 and a third wins. That's a headache, so ties everyone gets full credit.

Me, Killer Angel, and the Darkfourth have among the most entries of any forumites. We enter a story nearly every contest. It makes sense we would It makes sense that eventually we'd win.

Y'ttar Scaletail, Infinity Turtle, and Lordkingcrow don't enter contests very often but in percentage terms their odds of winning are high. Tlac'Natai the Observer is the dark horse of our contests never even posting on L-O and winning right out of the gate. He stuck around for a few months writing cool stuff and then disappeared. I wish he would return...

1. LordKingcrow

2. Pendrake

3. Tlac'Natai the Observer

4. Spawning of Bob (won twice, multiple entries were allowed and his pieces tied for first place!) This was truly the most Bobnificent contest ever.

Huh, didn't think I was anywhere near that. I know I did break the medal system on the Chaos Dwarf Online story comps once... :P

Anyway congrats to the new toad-thing revered Slann. :)
