What are you doing today hobbywise?

Got two younger guys from work interested in potentially playing 8th edition...

Sending them the rulebooks this morning and hopefully can get them hooked (as this would exponentially increase the chances of being able to get a game in myself)...

A week or two ago I told my twin brother that I re-watched all LotR films and casually mentioned my Middle Earth SBG models and the possibility of playing small games... so soon we will start a campaign in Middle Earth ;)

I literally feel like a Jedi Knight picking up a padawan during the time period of the Original Trilogy...

Training them in noble arts long since forgotten and passed into legend during a time of darkness...

Eh, @NIGHTBRINGER ? ;)

Pretty much my feelings when i introduced my two young cousins to D&D (the Red box!), back in a time when D&D was still looked suspiciously, with reactions going from "only weird people could be interested in such a thing", to "Isn't that the game that includes satanism?"

Brilliant.

I'd be interested to hear which armies they collect! Hope they go for cool ones like Tomb Kings, Bretonnia, Dwarfs, Lizardmen, Skaven, Greenskins or Beastmen!

Jedi?! Surely you mean Sith!

Nah, to play Warhammer Fantasy you need self-discipline and pure focus, traits of the Jedi art. The Sith lack the patience to play Warhammer Fantasy, for they are too wild and undisciplined, and resort to games with shorter play times like AoS (even though setting the game up ironically takes longer than playing it in AoS)

I have finished painting my Rivendell Company up to current stands of the Campaign I play. I will take a picture when daylight is out again.

For the Minas Tirith Company I am still awaiting my Guards of the Fountain Court(placed the order on the 19th of November, just yesterday got the mail it was actually send...)

Last Wednesday I received the mail that my order was delivered at the office(more likely to be someone around during the day than at home), but since last Tuesday we in the Netherlands are back in to a hard(er) lockdown...
So won't be able to collect the package until mid January :shifty::(

Not doing a whole lot of hobby stuff while my immediate family is visiting over the holidays, but I managed to get a few things sorted out:

This year's Secret Santa gift exchange in my local gaming group turned out to have my Secret Santa and I having each other. I gave him a Fomoroid Crusher, an Ogroid Myrmidon, and a Minion Miniatures Bugbear Ironshield, and in return I'm getting a Lost Kingdom Miniatures Ezocamtl General on Dilophosaurus. He's confident that the model would make for a better fit for the carnosaur warscroll than the one provided by GW.

Apart from a box of 3 Primaris Gladiators currently sitting at the same guy's place (he's agreed to let me use his address as an alternate to mine if I'm not around to pick up the order at my front door), I finally got the Fanath Art Blood Bowl Kroxigor I ordered over a month ago, along with knocked down and stunned tokens. I look forward to building them to replace the one I converted from the finecast bunch. Speaking of, I'm looking to sell the remaining two if anyone is interested. The parts are off the sprue and partially cleaned.

While on the topic of orders, I'm still waiting on the Warcry allegiance supplements and the new Van Saar and Blood Bowl stuff to be shipped.

I also managed to squeak by in getting access to the STL file for Punga Miniatures' new Krampus-themed Grey Seer model.

Now THOSE are interesting! Hadn't heard of that maker before...

I wonder how big that is? It looks more like Scar-Vet on Cold One size, but I have to agree it is an awesome sculpt!

......want. Just, want. "Have you been a good little night-runner?" "Yes-yes, KrampTooth!" "Did you take out your target on your last mission-kill?" "Yes-yes!" "Then you get some warpstone!"

It's roughly halfway in size between Cold One and GW!Carnosaur.
The size for this proxy is between the carnosaur and the saurus knight. It will fit on a 105mmx70mm base.

Just finished another battleround of my map based battle companies for Middle Earth SBG... Minas Tirith did win again:shifty:. Fourth time in a row.

The Companies are quite uneven at the moment....
Maybe next round can bring some light in the darkness for Rivendell

These are the Battle companies as of now:

Minas Tirith:

The Knight of Dol Amroth on foot representatief a Guard of the Fountain Court and Beregond represents a Citadel Guard with Bow, because I still wasn't able to collect those models I ordered. The Ranger in the back is the possible reinforcement at the start of each scenario(on a 4+)

And Rivendell:

Tonight I will play the next game, one that Rivendell might be able to win...

A new year, a new day!

After my immediate family flew back East on the 29th, I set myself to task with prepping the load outs of the Van Saar gang I'm taking to the next Necromunda campaign in my local gaming group, building and magnetizing 2 plasma guns, a grav gun, and a servo claw. I'm kind of ticked that I still don't have a hard copy of the new House of Artifice book yet (I know, I know, disrupted supply chain and whatnot), not to mention having to resort to an ePub that doesn't come in PDF formatting, but I was able to scrape together a small gang of six Van Saars with what was now available, two of which are awaiting the new Archeotek and Neotek models to come out.

Prior to sitting down for a multiplayer game of Stellaris last night with an old friend who's in Ontario, I ran the errand of picking up the Primaris Gladiators, as well as a misplaced box of Bolt Action content I had been waiting on for a month (note to self: be more specific as to where the package is to be dropped off...). Already sated of the European theater of WW2 through Flames of War, I opted instead to pick up playing a Japanese army, and so I now have a box of 30 infantrymen that I need to build for a 500pt skirmish game on Tuesday.

For the time being, I'll be taking my time getting the two squads and their commanding officer together. One thing I will say about the models is that they're somewhat fiddly compared to GW minis since the 28mm models from Warlord Games are nowhere near as exaggerated - I already lost one LMG bipod trying to get it off the sprue, and narrowly avoided a repeat with the second.

So far, I've got six Japanese infantry assembled far enough to be recognizable in their roles - four riflemen, a light mortar, and a prone LMG. I still need to appropriately model the loaders for the mortar and LMG as riflemen with lots of ammo pouches hanging off of them

In the middle of it all, I decided to slap together the Fanath Blood Bowl Kroxigor, the knocked down and stunned tokens for it, Glart Smashrip, and a few other singular miniatures that were taking up space.

And still no word yet on the Ezocamtl General on Dilophosaurus model.

Worked on my Perry Miniatures foot Knights that I'm turning into vampires. I'm almost done with the bodies, I just need to prime the arms. I'm also two sets of weapons short, so I need to buy another box of Frostgrave Knights at some point.
