No Deep Strike for poor coalesced… if you want some “teleport” to grab distant objectives, you need to insert one unit of those chameleon skinks.
Also in this case, it’s a battalion designed to work with Koatl’s claw, especially with Ripperdactyls.
Select your target, each unbuffed ripper will deliver 4 tearing jaws attacks at 2+ rerollable; bury your rippers under multiple command abilities by the ripperchief, buff them with the Starpriest’ Staff and enjoy the carnage.
Stegadon: try to always bring one armed with Sunfire thrower. if you already have a chief with it, go for the Bow.
because if your Skink chief is the general of a thunder lizard you can do it twice. my current theory craft build has a skink chief with flamers as general, then there are 3 bows and 1 eotg.Only saurus have +1 to-hit bonus. Actually, shadowstrike templehost gets nothing from either constellation.
Why? Sunfire throwers have short range, only good against infantry and are a bit random. Besides, we already have two spell with the same effect, but better. Bow applies pressure from turn 1 and good against everything. Am I missing something?

sigh.. they're making stuff overly complicated with their definitions of keywords and the like...
Also, seems illogical to have an infantry battalion be lead by a giant hulking dinosaur....
- starborne shadowstrike: it's a cheap way of getting additional CP/artifact as it's the cheapest battalion to fill up
yes, but the entire battalion at msu is only 400. I don't think there's a cheaper way to get acces to an artifact.yep, but by itself it's not cheap at all. We're still talking about 170 pts.
Meh, I'd expect someone on a fancy mount to lead more than 3 basic units (though I guess at max size it at least looks like something as it's still a 120 followers..).well, the leader is the Saurus Oldblood, upon a magnificent mount. I'm thinking to Karl Franz upon his griffon.

Plus, you're probably going to have at least some of it in your army as your core anyway (e.g. the starpriest) further reducing the actual extra cost..
Why is it weird? often in the past officers were mounted while their troops were on foot. in TW2 you can lead a horde of warriors with a scarvet on carnoyes, but the entire battalion at msu is only 400. I don't think there's a cheaper way to get acces to an artifact.

Still a bit weird though.
It's an infantry formation, it's a bit odd to have a massive dinosaur in there for no apparent reason. Especially as all our other formations are very clearly dedicated to a certain militairy role. So it stands out. Especially as it literally towers over them. It just feels a bit out of place as now you essentially have a formation with your average run of the mill infantry lead by your super fancy super heavy cavalry. It's not the weirdest thing ever, but it just rubs me the wrong way I guess. Why is it weird? often in the past officers were mounted while their troops were on foot. in TW2 you can lead a horde of warriors with a scarvet on carno
fair enough. im a soldier, im used to such things lolIt's an infantry formation, it's a bit odd to have a massive dinosaur in there for no apparent reason. It says ignore the attack characteristic when using the flamer not for each attack characteristic roll a number of dice equal to models within range
with the old tome I'd agree. But the current tome has attack characterstics & and says "for an attack made with sunfire .... roll 1 dice/model". So I'd say 2x Models given that with the buff/trait/whatever it was you make 2 attacks.I think it would be models +1 or Models +2.
it doesn't say ignore the attack characteristic, it says the attack "sequence". these are two VERY different things. it absolutely works as I have prescribed.Still not convinced that's how it works. It says ignore the attack characteristic when using the flamer not for each attack characteristic roll a number of dice equal to models within range
Edit:reread stegadon instead, it says do not use the attack characteristic... Instead roll a number of dice... Still don't think you can double it but the wording is really weird. Usually it would just have see below by the attack characteristic like it does for the rest so maybe you can double it?
