What are you doing today hobbywise?

@Karnus I would be careful when putting them together, I found models from lost kingdom to be very very brittle and they snap very easily. So just take that in mind and don't apply to much pressure as well as sticking it together slowly.

Don’t worry I could tell as soon as I started snipping them off the sprue. The resin files VERY easily too. Beautiful sculpts though.

I’m still deciding on a colour scheme :S

Picked up my SC for new year, new army. Went with Skeleton Horde, while I build this I am currently thinking of colours. Doing some kitbashing work on the Mortarch cause I am not building another with the usual problem that it will break. Hopefully this one will hold well.
I did had hopes on mixing in some Ossiarch but they don't have allies, which surprised one of the new workers at the local store.
Went with an AoS army cause I noticed on the board that others are doing AoS armies.
If I want more points, it's just build and paint with proof, also playing games but not sure whether I will be able to get down to do those.

Due to in-house moving(Clearing the attic to create a room for our 6 year old Son) there is No Time nor place to hobby last couple of days.

Gr, Imrahil

All this time skiing, and I can't get rid of the idea of doing a second Imperial Guard army themed around ski infantry.

One of my gaming buddies did this with an Empire-themed army. Kind of neat.

Throwback time! I just placed a full order through Vitrix Limited for kits to build up a 2500pt army of Britons for Warhammer Ancient Battles.

That is:
at least 125 infantry
upwards of 20 chariots
20 skirmishers
and I'm still trying to think of what to do for upwards of 625 points worth of lords & heroes, of which at least 161 points go towards a high chieftain as my general.

That's basically Kislev! I think I would definitely like to see it :)

Alas, he trashed that army years ago. And when I say trashed, I mean "threw in the trash." Never did more than one unit of handgunners for it anyway before deciding the conversion work wasn't worth the time investment.

I went to a not-so-local gaming shop today and dug around through their used stuff. Only Seraphon they had was one (Finecast) Carnosaur-rider, and I wasn't interested in a Finecast ANYTHING, so I passed on it.

But I picked up a bunch of stuff for my World Eaters for cheap, so I'm happy. :)

A fellow Celt fan! Have a thumbs up from Arnie!

The Victrix Celts are magnificent models, and really good value (48 Warriors in a set for around £25-£30 is one of the most beautiful deals I've ever seen). The only problem with them is that there are very few store stockists for them (one of the reasons why I've gone for Warlord instead, as well as them being similarly nice models).

Interesting that you've decided to go with Ancient Battles as rules for your mass-battles - do you have the books for it then, as they're low on the ground now that Warhammer Historical's defunct?

Seeing as I still need to get models for lords and heroes, I'll keep an eye out for stuff through Warlord.

It has largely been at the recommendation of one of my local gaming buddies, who's been playing Warhammer for nearly as long as I've been alive. He's provided us with pdf copies of WAB 2e and supplemental material (including Armies of Antiquity) through a shared Google Docs folder with my local group.

Warlord do some nice hero models, especially as the new skirmish game SPQR has prompted releases of new heroes for many different ancients factions, but given that you've got loads of Victrix models on the way, you can easily convert some from those, especially as the Chariot kit gives you loads of separate chieftains, queens and druids you can you can base on foot. I've also heard that Victrix models are closer to Heroic 28mm, while Warlord are closer to 28mm proper, so unless you don't mind a relatively short chieftain leading your army, it might be better to stick with Victrix as most of your army's Victrix.

That's awesome, I've seen several sites hosting PDFs of the First Edition rules (formulated around the time of 5th Edition Fantasy), but I've never seen any PDF of the Second Edition rules online. In my case, I've found a couple of places that stock a lot of Warlord's rules, so I've been reading up on SPQR and am considering getting their Hail Caesar rulebook for mass battles as well at some point, but of course in the case of others that may not be possible.

I certainly look forward to seeing your Britons! Perhaps you should create a separate Historical Miniatures Blog like mine?

Also, are you thinking of recreating a particular tribe or historical campaign, or just having a go at creating your own army and recording its exploits?

Nearly got the SC together for the skeletons and I remember something, I had those Ogor plans. I think because I never started with them was because the SC they have is mostly the large beasts plush already having one, there is no SC for the main Ogor battleline. Not sure how that slipped my mind but it did. Just got to attach the Mortarch to the base and they should all be ready for priming.
