Almost finished 6 Gore gruntas... The sculpts are stunning. It takes a lot of time to paint them (not that hard fortunately) but it is very rewarding.

Today I returned to the shop I got my bases from on Friday, and picked up a little haul of Dwarfs to repel the recent Greenskin invasion and a few bitz for High Elves:


Some warriors with Great Weapons, some with Hand Weapons and Shields and five Miners. I plan to form a new unit with Great Weapons and add the warriors with shields and Miners to existing units.

I also bought a pair of torsos and legs along with some other bits to make a standard bearer and musician for the archers I also bought from that shop

Once again plugging away at my backlog during a duty watch. So far, I've finished assembling three ripperdactyls and their riders, three terradons (suggestions on load-out for a first unit of these?), a skaven warp-grinder team, a saurus scar-vet on a cold one (I'm still chuckling over the skaven pelts that make up his cape and saddle), and a personalized saurus oldblood on foot that at least partially resembles my current avatar (Chotzi, perhaps?).

Meanwhile, back home, I've been steadily working on painting a WizKids bronze dragon figure. Started with Wraithbone and Darkoath Flesh, followed by a wash with Seraphim Sepia and then a light drybrush with Tamiya Leaf Gold. The green was achieved for the most part by drybrushing Creed Camo. The claws and horns were done with Black Templar.

I dropped by my local GW to pre-order Warcry cards for Skaven, Disciples of Tzeentch, Tzeentch Arcanites, Ogor Mawtribes, and Slaves to Darkness. I also got a chance to try my hand at playing my Lizardmen team in Blood Bowl as part of an exhibition game.

Building some Stormcast The ones from the magazine I got
These though will be for an independent toy shop I sometimes visit. These are being done for free and they will borrow them. They very recently had some thieves steal from them, so I popped in today to buy some stuff for the dinosaur and horse collections, I offered the opportunity for the free painted models to display and they accepted, being that they stock Warhammer now.
They are a really nice bunch, happy to talk and very enthusiastic and willing to help with any questions.
Painting these Stormcast will help with practice.
Need to get the Skeletons finished also as I need to gather the points.
