BOOOOO!

As Episode VIII taught us, the last thing Star Wars needs is "Your mom" jokes.
Also this storm trooper. Wish that storyline was filled out better (and he won).

That was the main problem with Episode VII. Finn was an ex-storm trooper and that never came up. He didn't hesitate for a second to kill other stormtroopers, who were his brothers. He never had to deal with the Rebels distrusting him for his past. He had a twisted upbringing with the stormtroopers since he was a small child but he never had a culture shock adapting to civilian life.

A giant wealth of character arcs and the writers decided to immediately go with "Token minority and generic bumbling male comic relief"

This. And that's really sad since the idea was good.

What I disagree with is the criticism about Luke's progression. To me it makes perfect sense. That's the typical thing to happen to idealistic characters when things go terribly wrong. They break and become like that.

I while back, I showed you guys a video explaining why Stormtroopers were actually good shots.

Now prepare for your mind to be blown...

I like that channel a lot, because he is so overwhelmingly passionate.
That guy just loves Star Wars and digs up every little detail.
The best (and also worst) of that: whenever he encounters something he doesn't like or understand, he goes back a step and thinks: "ok, based on what we know from some other sources, how can we make it fit? How could it be secretly awesome?" And then he creates videos like the one you posted.
And when his theories get shattered (like the - admittedly not very good - ones he had about Ep7 and Ep8) he doesn't get on a rant or blames politics, he just looks at the new canon and makes the best of it.
IIRC back when the prequel trilogy was "the worst ever"(tm) he was among those who made the best videos about the prequels, explaining and theorizing about them. In fact I'd say he is probably the one that made Ep2 and Ep3 more bearable for me.

I admit I haven't watched his videos for some time because he posts a lot of spoilers, but as soon as I have watched Ep9 and The Mandalorian I will watch his videos again. They are quite entertaining.

This scene really bothered me in the theater :mad::mad:

1) Padme falls 200+ feet out of a FLYING AIRCRAFT

2) Padme falls (200+ feet from out of a FLYING AIRCRAFT) onto a giant sand dune. Sand is soft but NOT THAT SOFT :hurting::hurting:

3) Padme lies motionless on said soft-but-not-actually-that-soft sand :hungover::hungover::hungover:

4) Stormtrooper (who also fell 200+ feet out of a FLYING AIRCRAFT) comes over and checks to see if she is ok :bucktooth::bucktooth::bucktooth::bucktooth:

5) Padme gets up, yells something at him, and then takes off running with him to go rejoin the battle :bored::bored::bored::bored::bored:

...don't know if anyone else here has jumped out of a flying aircraft before, but even 10 feet out of a hovering helicopter I would not want to take my chances if their wasn't a rope involved :hurting:

On the flip side, they have laser swords and fight aliens in space :joyful:

Anakin really hated sand because he was jealous of Padme's special relationship with sand.

It's disheartening that the Disney Star Wars cast seems to not have anything nice to say about Episode 9 and they are mostly saying "I'm never coming back to Star Wars!"

That should torpedo any slim hope that Rise of Skywalker is going to be any good.
